Same as others; got a call that I picked up on; slight delay, then someone comes on saying they're so-and-so and they're from Fidelity something-or-other. Something to do with the proxy vote for a fund I'm invested in.I cut in and said I don't take telemarketing calls and they should remove my name from their call list. As I pulled the phone away from my ear, I heard him say "But it's not a telemarketing c..." and I then hung up. *69'd the # and Googled it to find this site.Do they *really* think people who are investing in one of their funds via a 401(k) care about voting for the proxy vote? I throw those damn things away; I sure as hell don't want to be called on the phone in the evening to be reminded about something I'm never going to vote on!
The number they call me on is not actually associated with me, so Unless they are trying for someone else, it is a nuisance call, that happens at least once every day.
I got back from vacation and as flipped through all the missed calls. I noticed there were too many missed calls from this number without any message. The caller ID only said Fidelity. I tried calling the number and and got an office is closed message from DF King. Yes they do specialize in financial communications/security holder solicitations by contacting shareholders. It is certainly annoying. There should be some "out" from this.
It seems that we all get the Fidelity calls. I also invest in Fidelity. My answer was send me the info in the mail. Now that I aware that others have received them I won't anser again. If the investment firm is using outside telemarkters or giving them the investers names,I migh think twice aboy using this firm. I will call my broker on Monday to give him this information.
These calls are legit, albeit annoying. Had someone call here who barely speaks English mumble through the DF King, Fidelity Proxy yada yada yada for a mutual fund. He asked if I had received the proxy package to which I replied "I don't think so." He started telling me how they were mailed in January. OK. You say that you mailed it in January and in mid-April I'm saying that I don't think I received it. Now what? I'm supposed to change my answer and say "Oh, right. I remember that mailing 4 months ago."Freakin idiots. I hung up. And don't hire people who can't speak English.
So many correct posts in this thread are being ignored. If you have Fidelity investments OR EVER WORKED FOR A COMPANY THAT USED THEM FOR 401K then you're probably going to get a call unless you're responding to the paper mail. Given how huge the company is, I'm sure plenty of people are getting calls in error.Check with the SEC - they specifically state that DF King has been retained by Fidelity for this purpose. It is NOT a scam. Google "DF King Fidelity" and look it up yourself. It sucks that they're not taking people off lists fast enough, but it also sucks that my investment dollars are being wasted because so many people (including me, in the past), are ignoring the proxy voting. They really need to change how they handle this whole thing.
Hi-The call is from Fidelity. These are not nuisance or telemarketing calls, and yelling is not an appropriate response. As a shareholder, you have a say in how the company manages your money. Either vote or don't, but drama is not necessary here. Open those proxy envelopes- you can register to vote your shares online and never get calls.
