I called Comcast customer care and the Gal that answered the phone did not have any idea what I was talking about, but she offered to put me on an (Internal Comcast Do Not Call List) I've been on hold for 6 minutes after she told me that she was going to initialize that list. She then proceeded to tell me that it can take 30 days for the calls to stop. So I said fine, tell you what. If I get a phone call after June 10TH 2012 then I will just go ahead and cancel everything Comcast related! I said I have one question, can you tell me why Comcast outsources my information to a 3rd party who incessantly harasses me two times or more a day to buy more Comcast products, but does not even have the courtesy to leave me a voice message stating who they are! She says to me Sir that's a very good question and I'm sorry but I don't have an answer for you. So here is my answer; I have been a loyal customer for many years, but I don't need two phone calls a day. I spend a lot of money on entertainment monthly and have decided that after the next phone call I'm just going to squash the services from said provider all together. I come home from work to relax, not to be harassed but someone that I already have a business relationship with!
If you've permitted COMCAST to contact you via phone (which most customers allow their service providers to do), I believe that extends to agents promoting their products too. In this case, registering with the Do Not Call Registry doesn't apply for these nuisance calls. I think the onus needs to be placed on Comcast to stop the insanity of practices being used by their promotional agents, lest they lose more customers. I too have been plagued by daily calls for the past 2 weeks and googled the offending phone number to find this website. Per the GCS rep's recommendation, I've fired off an email to the address they listed and will keep my fingers crossed that it will work.
Just call 916-437-0495 and tell them to remove you from the list. You get a live person and it worked for me.
