This Scott Freeman guy called twice, and I'm not about to call back because I have all my debt in a settlement program. He called saying that he was a legal investigator following up on a legal suit filed under my SS#. Never heard that one before! He wanted me or my attorney to contact him. I have received many hang-up calls from that number, and a friend of mine who moved to Wisconsin even got a call. I don't know how they got her name or her mom's home phone number. They just told the lady on the other line they had the wrong number. I haven't received anything in the mail from these people, so I will continue to ignore their calls. How do I get them to stop calling? That's the question!!

Thank you for bringing some decorum back to this message board. Yourpost was well put and very informative. It is illegal to also disclose a debt to a third party, which these people have done. They stopped calling me and my family after I threatened to report them for harassment. Thankfully no one has received a phone call since. Has anyone else received a phone call lately?

About two weeks ago, my sister received a call from Claims America asking for information to contact me. She called me and give me their phone number, so I called them immediately.I was told by one of the agents that they have been looking for me for collections on a vehicle that was repossessed in 1998. The vehicle was in my name only. I was not aware that this vehicle was repossessed because I was told my my ex-husband (we were LEGALLY married at the time) that he had trading the vehicle in when he purchased a new one.So of course, this was a surprise to me. My question is, is this company Claims America, LLC a legitimate company and do they have any rights to collect from me. They have sent me a fax stating that the judgement amount is $4,608.07 and agreed to settle for $1,000. The agent is pressuring me to make this payment or the total judgement amount will be due and they can take future legal actions against me. What should I do????

I have recieved a phone call from my mother, who had gotten a call from a "Investogator Caron D. Martino". Caron had said that I am a respondant, and failure to do so could result in a civil action or court order. I looked the phone number up, it comes to be a number from Atlanta, Georgia, which I have never been to or near in my life.Phone number given was 770-881-7088, and Case # LE 6090.I have not lived with my mother since 1998 or 1999. Provided that I once lived there, the information would/should be updated enough for anyone that would ligitly have a reason to contact me.

You are even more simple minded than I thought. You just can not get past the thought of somebody not being in complete agreement of what You think. Because I dont think you are a victim in all of this I must work for these people. You want to make comments and call me names act like you are so much better than everone else, but you dont know me, you have no idea who it is you are posting this message for and yet you continue to resort to implying that I am involved with this company. You contine to acuse me of all these corrupt acts that involve fraud and are so illegal. so if this is so true and I have broken the law in some way by stating my opinion on this subject, Then come and get me Mr think you know something. I dont work for these people, but I do work 40 to 50 hours a week and pay all my bills. I pay my taxes and I help out where I can. I lead a good life that is rewarding for me. I also look at my loans and my cc bills and my insurance costs, I look at how the dollar continues to decrease in value. I see the retail cost of everything go up and up. The funny thing here is, you truly want me to have sympothy for you because somebody wants you to pay the money you recieved from them. these people dont call me! and everytime somebody doesnt pay a loan or a cc, Who do you think pays in the end? you and I and every other decent person who does pay the bills they owe. And to be completly honest,I dont care what rules these people are governed by, Clearly the moral approach does absolutly nothing to get a response so I guess they do what they have to do.... Bottom line is that if the bill was paid on time then there would be no need for the phone call now. Your message continues to call these people criminals but, was not the fact that the money was not paid back a crime also? Remember I too am entitled to my opinion even if my spelling is not very good. my opinion is that you and a lot of other people are just mad because you know in your heart you should have paid the bill when it was due and now you use every law and excuse you can possiby think of to try to make the collection people look bad.. With trillions of dollars of debt in this country, Everyone wants to put the blame on the collection industry. If everybody paid there bills there would be no collection industry. I know its hard for you to understand this but, I dont have to be employed by these companys to know where there coming from. maybe you shoud think about opening that tiny little mind of yours and look at the big picture. Get a loan,, pay it back.

I just received a call asking for my daughter-in-law (who goes by her maiden name and has never lived in this house) from the same Investigator Donald Bradley stating that he was from Claims America in Snellville, GA and gave a case number. He told me that my daughter-in-law must call him back promptly or she will be receiving a subpoena. I said why a subpoena? If she was being sued, she would be receiving a summons and Complaint. I told him that my son is an attorney and would be calling back. My son googled the number and we found this site. I don't see how they can still be in business. My son is contacting the attorney general's office in Florida. This is certainly a scam and they need to be arrested.

It is amazing how people can distort the law to use in there own favor. Even the criminals. And to be honest, I still have no determined who the real criminal is yet. The one that doesnt honor a contract or the person that breaks the law to get the money back, if indeed they truly do break the law. I guess two wrongs do not make a rite. But at least people are being held accountable for what they owe and I like that.

A message was left on my telephone from a person who said he was Scott Freeman and needed to talk with me about a legal matter. He said it was urgent to return his phone call ASAP and gave me a case number. Luckily, I found this web site and discovered it was a scam. I did not return the phone call.

The only thing here that is getting tiresome is the childish name calling. It seems to me that you are looking for some kind of sympathy. Oh, poor me, I got a phone call today for a bill I owed 10 years ago! You should have paid it then. Get over it and move on, your not a victim, your just not trying to py a bill that you thought you got away from scott free and now it is back to confront you. So no I dont have to work for these people to think that what they are doing is not that bad. I can think what i like and you need to just deal with it or go away.
