Amazing that they haven't changed the phone # after all these "years"! I got the call, just phone # on caller ID.. I did not answer and they did not leave a message.
I received a call from someone claiming to be working with my credit card providers and wanting to lower my interest rates. I asked "which card" they were referring to and they said "all my cards". The Caller ID was 1-800-285-8585 which seems to actually be a US Bank #. I guess someone is falsifying the Caller ID.
A woman's voice said "I am from your credit card company". She did not mention the name of the company. She said I could take advantage of a limited time offer for me to lower my interest rate and wanted me to press "1". Dialing the number back got the same recorded voice saying she is from Card Member Service and she will be helping me with my account.I do not have any credit card debt, so lowering interest is not an option that would apply to me.
oh dear,am severely vision impaired--received a phone call just within the last half hour & the woman asked for my SS# to look up my cc# & then tells me I don't have one with them??!! Now I am so upset~how could I be so stupid as to give them my number & what can they do with it?!! Can the hurt me--who are these people & what can I do now?? I have nothing & am on a fixed income. If this is known--why are they not caught,or still doing this. They said they were US Bank so it fits with the above & I do not have a card like this only Household. Help--I am so upset & worried now.
didn't answer, call I.D. said '800 Service' ... googled it and here i am ... i have ONE credit card, which always has a zero balance at the end of EVERY month ... i have not carried a balance in many many years ... telling them that i have NO BALANCE and i'm not interested does not do any good ... they KEEP calling month after month ... so these calls are FISHING expeditions ... they are looking to sucker you into something where they will MAKE MONEY ... they are NOT looking to SAVE you any!

called and then hung up, left him a kurt voicemail about wasting peoples time. scammers are prevalent, be careful and don't answer this call

It is a legit PNC Bank phone no. I wrote out a $12000. check and they called to verify and had the last 3 digits of checking acct. on message.
