Male caller said he could lower my credit cards, asked which one, he said my visa, discover and master card. Told him I didn't have those, only American express. He asked for my credit card number and I told him no, and take me of his call list. He started cursing me, said fu·· You, called me a [***].
Received a call from 800 Service with a phone number of 800-285-8585. They can lower my interest rate...so I pressed 1 and a telemarketer came on the line that sounded like a very nice older lady. She asked if I had credit card debt over $2500 and I told her yes and she said she could get me lowered to 6.9% approx. with all my credit cards. She asked for the customer service 800 number on the back of my card of which I gave to her. She asked me what the name of the bank was of which I told her. She asked which type of credit card I had of which I also told her. Then she wanted the credit card number. I told her I do not give out numbers over the phone and asked if she could send me something about her company via postal service. She replied that something was sent to us a few weeks ago and I told her I received nothing like that in the mail. She kept insisting on getting my credit card number, over and over again. I told her I would have to talk to my husband first and she said that would be ok and she would have to call me back but first she needs my credit card number!!!
looks like the ol' "Rachel" "Lisa" credit card annoying calls have found another way to call since they got shut down.
So excited. Got a call from another Credit card scammer. Yay! Haven't had one in a while. I guess they changed numbers as I block them right after they call. I have hundreds of blocked calls but they only can call once.
Like so many others below, I received a call from this number that went to voice mail. The voice mail was three seconds of dead air.
Keep an eye on all your accounts including your bank account. You can do this online. If you do this online be sure you have your firewall activated and good security on your computer. There are free programs that are good, like AVG. Make a police report so it is on record. If someone uses your number they may not use it for months so you have to keep checking. I guess you should contact social security and see what they say. I have not had my ss stolen, but someone got my debit card number and the security number on the back. I'm 99.9 percent sure it was a local restaurant. I caught the charges online within minutes of them being made because I check everything frequently. You can also have alerts set up on your accounts. Have an email sent everytime there is a charge on your account. The emails usually come a day or two after the charge though, but if you can't check your accounts that often it is good. Set it up for any charge over a very small amount, like 3 or 4 dollars, or even one dollar.
Have received calls numerous times, keep asking them to stop calling. I advised them I am on the "do not call" block list. I blocked them. It's a credit card scam. When I call them back, EVERY time, it's a 30-45 minutes wait, AND they want you to enter your credit card number. Be VERY wary of these people!
