Student loan collectors. I don't deal with people in low level jobs who are paid to call up and harass other people. My time is valuable and I'm not going to have some low paid jerk upsetting me on the phone. Blocked the number and if they have legitimate business with me, they can figure out my mailing address on their own and mail me crap. I'm not confirming my address over the phone to anyone. Morons. Blocked #.
Bottom feeder collection agency, Credit Adjustments Inc, out of Defiance, OH who also uses a Manchester, New Hampshire PO Box address. If you look up their address at 330 Florence Avenue in Defiance, Ohio, they operate out of some old warehouse. Nice.Credit Adjustments has had multiple class-action lawsuits against them for violating the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). They will resort to any tactic to harass you.I would highly recommend not answering your phone and do not call them back, or they will never leave you alone. They play dirty and not by the books, as evidenced by the large number of lawsuits and complaints against them.Change your phone number if they won't leave you alone. Be sure to also file a complaint with your State Attorney General, also file a complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB), and the Better Business Bureau. We CAN and will put them out of business for harassing consumers, and this has happened with other collection agencies when enough of us file complaints.Be as relentless toward them as they are toward you. There is strength in numbers and we as consumers can fight back against their harassment.Use every means necessary and available to you to file multiple complaints. We WILL stop them if you do this.
This is exactly what's happening to me. I never had student loans as I was fortunate enough to get scholarships. Out of nowhere and to a very old address, I get a letter saying they're going to garnish my wages. I've called several times and wrote letters asking for a proof of the debt, and to date, I've received nothing. There's nothing on my credit report either.I spoke with someone at Credit Adjustments yesterday after I received a Fed Ex with my notice for the "hearing I requested". I didn't request a hearing, I requested a proof of the debt. He said one was being Fed Exed to me for delivery today (9/21/17), and he provided me a tracking number. Lo and behold, the tracking number was for the packet that I had ALREADY RECEIVED. I mean, what the actual f**k is wrong with these people??? And do the courts actually allow a wage garnishment when the alleged debtor is challenging the debt??I can't believe how frustrating this is.
This company is a total joke. Now they're employing homeless people to call you for collections?A new low. These unprofessional clowns are blocked.Credit Adjustments a Defiance-Ohio based company will employ 50 workers who will come from Toledo’s homeless population.
yes they can garnish wages for student loan collections. No court order needed. that is one time it is allowed. I know, they've done it. Now filing complaints against them for shady business practices- but they're still taking a decent chunk of my paycheck.
Total scam. No government agency will contact you about debt by phone or e-mail or tweet - all contact is by u.S. Mail. "charlie" is clearly a shill for these zombie debt collectors. Ignore or block.
Dept of Education will Never contact you by phone - all contact will be made by US Postal service with written correspondence. These "collectors" are bogus thieves. Ignore or block them.
I received a phone call, several actually about relieving my college loan. I thought it was phony but the department of education says they are the ones handling my loan. Now they arent answering the phone at all. The reviews are very negative.
This number calls my phone every weekday during work hours. Have never actually been able to pick up. No message left.
