Called to collect a student loan debt that has not been put in default. Had my SSN, work phone number. Threatened to garnish my paycheck.
Receive calls every day. Is this senior harassment? My wife and I are 69 years old. Put on call blocker. I'm considering legal action.
Called and left a message. Nothing directly to me but a "conversation" with someone else about how they have called me numerous times with no response and now it is time to take legal action. This number has been blocked for the better part of the last year.
I paid for 15months sent in all the necessary documents on 4 seperate occasions where & they harrassed me all throughout that time. Finally at the end, When I was to have my loan reassigned & default fees cancelled, they kicked me out of the program & said failure to send in supporting documents.
This is a legitimate company. The IRS took my refund this year and submit it to my student loan balance and they send me directly to these people, (IRS) and they, "this company" can have all my Tax returns for the years to come confiscated until the debt gets settled, or you make a deal to have this fixed quick, and if you don't contact them or your Dep. of Ed. student loan issuer, they can garnish your employment payments and IRS refunds if you get any until the account gets satisfied to its total. Be careful don't do the same mistake I did. Just FYI and always CYA....
Received a call from this number just now. Didn't answer it because I don't answer numbers I don't recognize. They didn't leave a message. Looks like they are a debt collector. I don't have any outstanding debt I'm delinquent. I just checked my credit score and still have excellent credit (810 score). I paid off my student loans years ago. What could they possibly be calling me about!?

This Is NOT Wells Fargo! It does seem legit, but it is NOT. I called Wells Fargo & they said no one called me. ALWAYS call the # on the back of your credit card no matter what company it is.
