Most of what you all post are half truths or half-understandings. Yes, Collection agencies *can* call you looking for someone. Chances are they got the number out of the whitepages and whitepages hasn't updated info in a while. That's how they get your number eveb though you may never have heard of the person. Second, if you say "This is a wrong number." The number *is* removed. Sometimes the dialer system will be pre-loaded and still have a bad number in it, but calls shouldn't continue after 3 days. If they call for a relative say that you do know that person but this is *not* a good contact, explain you hsve no way to get that person a message or if you do, request their contsct info, request the number removed and pass on the message. Also, the people working for collections companies aren't scumbags. They have a job like everyone else and when you answer the phone like a dick, natural defense mechanisms kick in and even the nicest person will go dick-mode on you. Be nice, don't throw around an attitude and things will get taken care of.
Also, the dialers literally cannot call a number after 9 unless your state and federal laws allow it. Same with calls in the morning. The dialers and computer systems *will not* let you dial a number from a time zone that is blocked by law. Say you have a Missouri number and are in Missouri. They cannot call before x:xx o'clock. If you're an idiot and have a Missouri cell or landline # and live in, say, California...the systems have no way of knowing physical location. I suggest googling "state laws on collections" and looking info up before spouting on here.

No voice mail. The pieces of scum called me in the AM. I sleep in the AM. That's my schedule. Could cut some one.
Never EVER give out personal information to a caller you don't know. If they want you to confirm your SSN, then let them recite it to you and you'll confirm they have it. Otherwise, they are probably phishing for information so they can steal from you.
Just got off the phone with the asshats. They wanted my brothers info at an address not his or mine. He and my info shouldn't and are not together. When I told them I looked it up here and multiple sites ( that being their name and number) and told them that the basic info on line is that they are scamers. And the lady on the phone actually said that she didn't know what that was. LMFAO. But totally went off on the guy, calmly and collectively of course. Asking how he got the info he said he could not tell me being Im not the reason for the call. Which is funny being how they were asking me already about him. But that being said THESE GUYS ARE WAY TO FISHY NOT TO BE SCAMERS. Every question I asked he kept saying this is going nowhere. To which I responded each time saying "Well thats because your dodging my questions". By the end of the conversation I let him have it and what I thought of his company and there ways and told them there were scamers. I straight told him "You know what **** YOU". Then he hung up. Gonna call them back later to see what the changes on for who is working and all. Hopefully they are stupid and don't relay the info from before. I love catching them in the act. :) P E A C E
So far, six calls, no message. In this day of access to 'who calls you", I question the pretense that these are professional debt collectors. Until they leave a message of some ilk, the call count will mount. As far as I'm concerned, I'm current on all my debts and am responsible for only those debts incurred by myself.
Callier ID: 800 ServicesClient Services, Inc.www.clientservices.comThey call often but don't leave messages. They, and companies like them, are why there is Caller ID. So, you can see that they are providing a service to humanity by annoying us. They are stimulating advances in technology that serve us all. Please read further down this very long thread. There is advice from the BBB explaining the situation. You could also go look up the BBB Website.Unfortunately, the only ways to stop them are to pay, settle, or sue. None are feasible for me so I just meditate. It does no good at all to get upset. You can train yourself to not become annoyed (although I have not mastered that technique yet). Good luck.
I am a single lady who has the misfortune of getting a phone number of someone who owes this or had owed this company. These people wake me up every morning and even calls at night for someone that I do not know!! I have asked them repeatedly to stop calling me and they say OK, but just keep on calling. A friend told me once that if your number gets into their system, that they don't care who has or or does not have that phone number they are going to call it regardless!! Is it to prove that the Reps are doing their job by calling whom ever they please?
