Got a call from them too it said toll free and they left a message saying hello hello and hung up. Not sure what that's about.

Caller ID stated Direct TV. I was offered a "deal" where if I paid 5 months in advance with anAmazon Gift Card for my direct tv service, I would get a premium package with all of the movie channels for only $69.99 a month for 2 years with no contract. They gave me a contact phone number for the "promotion" department of 1-888-580-4895. They knew my phone number and address. I received a promotion code of CXDTV6670. I confirmed with Direct TV that this is a complete phishing scam.

You know you can sue these guys, right? The penalties for telemarketers who don’t follow the rules can be pretty serious. My brother is an attorney who works for a law firm who is pursuing lawsuits against telemarketers. I’ll be happy to put you in touch if you want to explore doing something about this nonsense.
