SOme one called my friend about my retirement investments from this number. I am not sure, why would they call him than me.
This number is a legitimate Fidelity number. I confirmed this by calling another number I had for Fidelity and having them check it. The given number is for a group that checks up on people with workplace accounts like 401k's and asks if they have any questions or concerns.
Likewise, I found this to be a legitimate Fidelity number used to help people their 401K accounts.
I received this number on a card in the mail that appeared to come from Fidelity. Did you all find this number to be legitimate?
Why would they call a number not even associated with the account. Someone called my mother in laws house and was asking for me. Why would they not call me personally. Thats what makes it seem fishy!!! And thats why I will not call them back.
Something is suspicious from this call. The man told me he from Fidelity and he want to help me about my 401K account with Fidelity. I asked his phone number to call him back. I check the number out. It's not any number related to Fidelity main lines. I just want to bring this to people awareness.
This is NOT Fidelity! I just got off the phone with Fidelity using a real customer service number (go to their website directly) after the message I was left sounded suspicious and the callback number did not have any option to get to a live person. The customer service rep, after I told him the message that I was left, literally walked me through his script of what kind of message they would have left the customer in that instance. The phony Fidelity rep had left me a message to call him back about my two "inactive" accounts, naming them specifically, something that is considered TOO MUCH INFO to share on a voicemail message (it's different if you've called the company and you then start talking about the accounts in detail). As a result of my call, Fidelity is now investigating this phone number.
Just called me again on 12/18; again referred to my 401k by name, something that an actual Fidelity rep told me that they would never do, especially if they were calling without your own prompting. This so-called rep from the false number asked me when was the last time I checked my account and why I hadn't done anything with it; given that I had actually spoken with a real Fidelity rep recently, I knew this to be a bogus, leading statement. I stated that I was busy and asked for a call-back number and was given this number again. He introduced himself as Brooks Lee; the voice was completely different from the one that had left me a message about 8 days prior. BEWARE THIS NUMBER!
I got a call from someone calling himself William. He transferred me to someone calling herself brandy.. They sounded very professional and knew enough about me to make me believe they were legit. When they asked for my social, I got suspicious. and asked for their phone number to call back. She gave me 800-557-1900, x3538. I called Fidelity customer service to verify. Their official records showed that they did not contact me. Furthermore, they do not proactively reach out to their customers and ask about rebalancing their portfolio. Thanks to this website, a potential calamity was prevented. Thanks.
