You must be part of the scam. Whoever is on this thread stating that the number 800 642 4720 is legit is not being truthful. I don't care what the internet says. My first search of this number yielded a result from Wells Fargo but if you delve deeper, its not. DO NOT BELIEVE ANYONE ON THIS THREAD WHO SAYS THIS NUMBER IS FOR REAL.

got call, ID showed toll free number, I answered no one talked. Returned call recorded message said welcome to microsoft. I left message to remove my number, am pretty sure it won't work, but made me feel better
It's Wells Fargo Investment LLC or their telemarketer that WFB sells customers & non customers info to, they send my son who is a non customer telemarketing letters all the time claiming he's a valued customer. I don't believe any Wells Fargo Bank knows what the other dept. is doing, when you call one or the other they all have different answers as to whose calling. Some say it's one of their contracted telemarketers they are affiliated with which you can find out in any search engine that Wells Fargo sells your info to telemarketers if your a customer that hasn't opted out of getting their telemarketing offers. They also have a contracted telemarketer that WFB gives anybodies info to whether your a ccustomer or non customer, know several other non customers who go through the same calls/letters with a Wells Fargo letterhead letter that is telemarketing road service, life insurance, etc. offers. So even though the bank employees don't know the number or service it's because it comes from the Corp office to their telemarketers that are not affiliated or make aware the bank side of Wells Fargo of telemarketing offers/services.
I work at a lawfirm and just answered the phone. I said "law office" and the guys says "Ughhhhhhhhhh huh? who am I calling?" I said "you are calling law offices" and he said "oh no i've got the wrong number". Oh yeah sure you did looser!!! I dont have a Wells Fargo Account and these guys are scams. The guy sounded like he crapped his pants.
Have gotten several calls from this number lately. CID shows Toll Free and there's never a message. I've also gotten other calls from another number that show as Wells Fargo, and there's messages about 'good deals'. After reading the other comments, I strongly believe the toll free call may be a scam. I'll just keep on not answering or returning any of them.
