Time Warner - Automated call from telemarketing system (my number is on the do not call list by the way!)
Time Warner automated call. I have received 4-5 of these over the past few weeks.
call comes in - and no one on the other line. IT's Time Warner with their automatic annoyance call, they're doing telemarketing and they don't happen to have an operator available at the time.
They called even though my phone number is registered for DO NOT CALL.
Didn't answer and never will. Thanks for the warning
The Do Not Call Registry doesn't count if you are an active customer of the company who calls.
I did not answer my phone, but since everyone seems to think it TWC your right and the only time they call me is to do a survey after talking with a TWC on the phone or after they visit me to see how my experience went. Also the calls come over seas. They have a call center in the Phillippines Portorico, Jamacia etc. I was told by tech who came to my house that in the near future the call center will be people from USA the other countries will no longer help us. Also I told a guy 1 day how can you fix my cable and know what is wrong with it from any country out of USA he said by airwaves and satellite I said will those can be interrupted and you might say it not in this equipment or what ever. Can not wait till the bring there centers back in the USA.
Didn't answer. However:I called back and got Time Warner Cable Customer Service, it asked if I was a customer (yes) and if this was my home number (yes) and was lead to a voice prompt system. I told it I wanted a rep, it asked what department and I said customer service to which it eventually hung up on me. After multiple attempts I called back and just kept repeating "representative" and wouldn't give it a department (every time I did it'd hang up). It lead me to customer service where I got a real person (shocking right?). I asked her why they were calling so she looked in the notes and said there was nothing and it must have been a sales call (duh?). I told her this is my cell phone number and I would like to opt out of sales calls. She said she added that option and it would take up to 30 days for the calls to stop. Hope this helps you all!
I have received this call three times in the past week. Since I work at night, this means they have awakened me three times. They do not leave a message and disconnect when I answer.I finally called them back since I knew I owed no balance. I had to confirm who I was, but I was then told that this was probably a telemarketing call. I explained that this was not acceptable, I was definitely on the federal "Do Not Call" registry, and they needed to leave me alone. If these calls continue, I suppose I will have to file a complaint, but the chances of that leading to anything are probably very low.

It sucks. Scam calls are getting wilder than ever — they’re even spoofing IRCC’s number now.
So when you pick up and hear that little ‘beep…’ at the start, it’s usually a scam.
Just hang up without hesitation
