I haven't exchanged anything or changed my service in any way, but I have been receiving calls from this number for the past month! Sometimes they call several times in one day, just to do it again the very next day.
San Antonio,I get the same call every day sometimes twice a day. They well not leave a msg and when I answer they say nothing and hangup. The number is from Time Warner in Rochester, NY. CS rep in NY said it maybe some type of worm call?????? Told me to call my local rep. for assistance.
Automated call from Time Warner Cable letting me know that massive channel line up changes were being made that night.
Robo Calls as early as 7:30am and as late as 9:30pm. and all times between, several times a day. Keeps on Robo asking if I want to cancel their repair technician. Not legal, harassment, told them to stop, reported to FCC, keeps happening.
These calls have burdened me for months. I am on the do not call list and have now contacted the FCC to have Time Warner cease and disist on my behalf. If you have the same issues where the calls won't stop (and why oh why would anyone have to wait 30 days for Time Warner to stop the War dials if you have already previously demanded to be eliminated from their telemarketing calls is ridiculous!), you might need to take the same tact.
We might have this all wrong. I get these calls a LOT (also on my ignore list) but why would TWC blow up your phone to tell you about a massive channel lineup change instead of just sending a flyer like normal? I'm in TX, have paperless billing, and only pay for the Internet portion so I don't even care about the channel lineup changing. I suspect this isn't TWC at all, but someone that acquired some of their customer base data and is phishing for information, maybe even just if you're still a TWC customer. I wish there was a whois-style database that would verify who owns a toll free number. It seems odd to me that when pressed, all of the callers hang up on a paying customer, that seems off.
Got a call from this number at 4:20 PM TX time on 28 Jun 2010 - The caller asked for (my name) soon as I said this is (my name) there was silence - so I hung up the phone---------
I've received two calls in the past two days. Cell phone rings. I answer. No one there. I gave Time/Warner my cell number four weeks ago so they could contact me prior to connecting an underground hook-up. They've yet to complete the installation. But they do have the time, money, and man-pwer to generate annoying phone calls. Way to go big business!! Maybe if enough people cancel your service (and I use that term loosely), you can run to whatever senator you have in your pocket and get a government bailout. Too big to fail, too big to work efficiently... [***]!!!
It wouldn't have lasted, though. They were trying to get you to keep the cable for a while, then they would jack up the price again.
