I went to the website iamverizon.com. You can put in whatever information you want for the username, password, and pin and it will say "congratulations! your discount has been applied". Point is, they get you to give them your login information on this site (which always says iamverizon.com no matter what you click on....another scam sign) and login to your account and get your credit card info and other stuff. I'm not sure how they get the Verizon number to show up as the caller ID (since I'm not a thief) or how they get this log-in box to look like it is part of the actual Verizon site. Just don't fall for it. Do what I do and test these things with fake information. My username was youareascam and my password was yesyour. Pin number/last four of social was 0000. How likely is it that someone would actually have that as their login info for Verizon? That's how you know they are just phishing for info.
I got a call from same 800 922 0204 went to my voice mail from wwwmyverizon27. Com offering $27 credit SMH WTF
I have been called by this number about eight times the past few days. Once I answered and someone with an Indian accent told me that Verizon was offering a hundred dollars for something - I didn't let the guy finish and immediately hung up because I had checked this website. I sent an email to Verizon asking them to warn their customers about this fake number i.d.
Lol I dont even have Verizon anymore and they called my TextMe APP what a joke. Gotta love Google for bringin me here.
Mine was actually from Verizon Wireless letting me know my 30 day free trial of Visual Voice Mail was ending. I did just get a new phone a month ago so it seems legitimate. It didn't ask me to sign in to anything or ask for money. It just said I would be given the option of paying $2.99/month for Premium Visual Voice Mail or reverting back to basic vuisual voice mail for free.
Received a call from this number this afternoon from a Ms. Cruz (badge # 11236) claiming to be a verizon wireless rep. She said I was 'randomly selected' to be offered a 30% discount on my bill, all I needed to do was give her my first and last name, my billing password, and answer three questions (all of them were about call quality or text message functionality). I had the 'this is a scam' feeling in my stomach, but I gave her everything she asked for except for my billing password, which I can never ever remember. She said that since she couldn't identify me as the account holder (because I was not able to provide the billing password), she would have her supervisor contact me within the next 24 hrs to follow up.I called the # back, and why not? It *is* a legitimate verizon customer service #, and spoke with a REAL rep named Chad who told me it was a good thing I didn't give her my billing password because that's what they really want, so that they can phish my account online for other sensitive information.Bottom line: If you get a call from this number claiming something wild like discounts or promotional items, hang up. You can always call verizon and ask if the call you got was legit...they have ways of looking that up....but never give your info out to anyone who calls. I can't believe I fell for that crap.
Voice mail icon with x attached to it with a text message. Trying to get me to call this number. Going on blocked list. Oh, already blocked - wonder how they managed to disappear now without a trace Another scam.
Someone called me from this number saying they were from Verizon Wireless and that I had a credit coming. They wanted to send me a check. I told them that I would prefer that they just credit my account the $56. The guy calling stated that he needed me to verify my information, including my SS#. I told him I wasn't going to give out my SS# over a cell phone and that they called me and therefore should be able to verify my identity. The caller then hung up.
