It was verizon's automated system. I had a visual voicemail trial that was running out in a day, and it was informing me of the option to continue or cancel the service. At least for my call, it's legit.
This was a legitimate call for me too. It was a Verizon Wireless customer service representative that I had just been speaking to, and she was calling to ask a me follow-up question. I didn't answer, so she left a message.
I received a voice mail from a woman claiming to be tiffinay with Verizon asking me to call this number in regards to someone else's email being associated with my account information
I actually got 5 letters of "recepits" in the mail claiming to verizon even though I have no verizon number! They asked e to send over my paystub, a utility bill, and a fax of social security. I told them they had to speak to my attorny and they wouldnt take his number and kept asking for my billing address password. Which how would I know? I dont have any plans with them!I am not sure what to do at this point.
Pretty sure you just had your login information phished. Change your info immediately and call Verizon customer service.
they may have switched tactics. I got a call from 800-922-0204 this morning claiming to be a Microsoft Tech Support person, since I actually work for Verizon I knew the number was our inbound customer support phone number. The caller claimed that one of their systems was showing that one of my Windows 8 machines was bombarding them with errors. Being an IT systems person myself I knew they were trying to scam me but if I did not know better I can see how they could easily pursuade people to give them information or possibly let them in to "stop" the errors.
Based on this site, number is from Verizon, I have AT&T. WIfe got call on her cell phone from AT&T rep(?!) with caller ID giving this number stating cell towers in local area are going down in 40 minutes until tomorrow. Even gave a $50.00 credit. No info was given by my wife to caller. When trying call someone, now get message the SIM card has failed. I have AT&T also for my provider and am able call my landline and other numbers. She is now calling AT&T customer service for verification and restoration of service.
I received a call from this number this morning. Since I generally don't give out my cell phone number to large businesses, I let it go to voicemail. I checked the voicemail, and it mentioned "My Verizon", and $32. I'm kind of insulted that the scammers only offered me $32. LOL! Anyway...the funny part is that I left Verizon for another cell phone provider in August.
Automated message from "Verizon Wireless" asking me to redeem a credit of $32 to my "account" (I do not have an account with Verizon Wireless) by going to their website. I do not remember the website, and did not hear the full message, as I promptly hung up the phone.
