No one ever answers and when they leave a message all I get is them say 000 (zero, zero, zer0)

This number is real. It is the capital one collections department. It usually means your account is over the credit limit. They probably also call if you miss several payments but in my case I was over the credit limit. Usually when they are calling you an insane amount like that it is because they want to reach you before they have to report you to the credit bureau... which will hurt your credit score. I know this number is real b/c I do online banking and when I signed into my account it had this number posted in the spot where it would normally tell you how much credit you have left on your card. I think its stupid they don't leave messages b/c in todays day and age people are of course skeptical of random 800 numbers that don't leave messages. Of course you're not going to answer and of course you're not going to call back if they don't tell you why they are calling. I was getting tons of calls from this number and had no idea why until finally they did leave a message. The message was some lady telling me I need to call back regarding a matter having to do with my personal business. I was annoyed the message still gave me no information as to who or why they were calling... they didn't even mention that they were Capital One. Finally I went on google and typed in this number to see what came up and I ended up here. I noticed people mentioning capital one so I signed into my online account and thats when I saw this number where my remaining credit should have been. I called and made a payment blah blah... point is it's a legit number, thats also why you can't have it blocked. As for those who don't have a card I don't know why they are calling you. Maybe you used to have a card and there is a mistake in their system, maybe someone in your household has one and is not telling you the truth, or maybe you got your identity stolen. Regardless I would want to find out if I were you. When I called I got a very helpful english speaking person. If you get someone you don't understand just hang up and call again and you should get someone different. Hope this helps someone. Have a good day all

i get many calls also. it says unknown and the 1800 955 6600 comes up on my caller id, i make my payments also. sometimes they leave a brief message and says its concerning a business matter, sometimes they call 9 pm and 8 am , this is getting annoying. i wish they would just stop. when i anser no one is there, sometimes a hang up,

This call is aknowing, they call at really early or late, as well as duing the day, even when I have consolidated my loan

Denise you're an idiot. You think you're so clever with that air horn bullsh** don't you. Those people calling you from capital one are everyday people just trying to get by in life like you are. They are probably hooked up to a dialer system that makes the calls for them. They are probably miserable sitting in a call center at a half [***] cubicle or something like it working a job where people yell at them and hang up on them everyday... a job that probably doesn't pay them enough and causes them to struggle with their bills JUST LIKE YOU DO. These people have nothing to do with setting interest rates and probably don't like calling you anymore than you like getting calls from them. AN AIR HORN CAN CAUSE PERMANENT DAMAGE. Would it really make you happy to send someones mom, brother, son, daughter, dad etc... home that day partially deaf??? Now ask yourself... do you really want to cause misery to another person just because you're miserable??

Yes, poor Capital One. They are such victims over there. I guess we should all just send them more social security numbers and more money. That should make them feel better. Hey, send me some money while your at it. LOL

It's legit - they are really capital one. I know as I get calls all the time due to my late loan w/ them which they refuse to help me with. I am 90 days behind and I have been making a minimum payment every month for the current month's loan and although I've told them repeatedly I have no way of catching up - they are NOT willing to cut me a break and extend the life of the loan three months. This was due to unemployment. It was a loan I took out for necessary dental work ( I was ripped off by vital dent - never ever go there!!!!) seeing as I did not have insurance.... anyway before I start getting political.... the simple answer is that it's legit.

I understand the no control over poverty. It is a shame we aren't treated like humans. All we are is a number in a system. I never had a late payment or bounced check in my life, I was always early paying my bills, but fate decided to make me terminally ill, and now I can not work. I have mounting medical of around 30 thousand every six months. My medication is 400.00 a month. Social security pays me only around 500.00 a month, so, I have no options. I have talked to these people, and all they say is, well, we need your payment, the fact that you are dying is no concern of ours. Please pay us before your estimated survival time is up. Now, I do believe that is a cold cold heart.

I got this call from Capitol One and they asked when I was going to make my payment. I said "When is the payment due?" (Not knowing I was late with any payments) They responded "The 15th". (As this was only the 3rd of the month, I responded "Well, I will be making the payment when it is due on the 15th----why are you calling me if it is not due?". She said "Thank you" and hung up.Are these credit card companies hurting so bad they need the money before it is actually due? Give me a freakin' break.
