november 14 2007, I got that call (1802-681-4148) it was a recording saying that I had won a trip!!! they ask me to press 9 then nothing.
Exactly as "Calgary" on Aug. 17, I received a call stating that I had won a vacation and to press 9 to accept. I pressed 9 to get more info. I spoke with a 'Rose-Maryl, rep 389' who did not speak french, and was calling from Vavation Promotions. She asked what our most used credit card when travelling was. She then proceeded to explain my win which included 4 days in Orlando (2 days tickets at Universal Studio), 3 days at beach of choice and then 3 days cruise from Fort Lauderdale. I would have 36 months to use the offer that would cost $300 per person based on double occupancy and the 2 kids would be free. I said I didn't have my credit card and ask her to call back. I checked this website that forwarded me to check www.4vacation.net I talked with Sharon who said she was aware that a company was doing telemarketing for them at Vacation Promotions in Florida but she could not sell the package, she only booked the dates once they were bought. By the way, they charge an extra $99.00 US reservation fee. Where it sounded less interesting is that there is also a $199.00 Port Tax fee per person for the cruise. A Montreal travel agent selling Carnival cruises says a cheap 3 days cruise to Bahamas is around $250, no estra fee.So, I prefer to book my own trip which will turn out to be around the same price without having to sit 90 minutes to let them convince me of buying time sharing condos. I discovered there are plenty of deals for those willing to listen to speaches about time sharing. So, there is no need to give my credit card number to people I don't know.So it seems this number is being used by various telemarketers. Mine is probably legit, but the gift turns out to be not so free.
