Hah... I got this call. Totally expecting it to be a scam (nothing in life is free for Pete's sake!). I love to eat these callers for breakfast. So I pressed 9, finally wound up on some voice mail system. Kept pressing 9, got nothing, pressed 0, the phone rang a few times, back to voicemail system. I kept pressing 0, then finally a man answered. When I asked questions, he responded as if he were talking to someone else... then I realized, he was! He kept asking me if I spoke English... huh? but I *was* speaking English...Then I figured out what was happening. It must have a problem with cross-talk on their automated system. I was hearing the operator's side of an incoming call from another person. So, I listened... kept listening... I heard SEVERAL of their calls! It is SUCH A SCAM!At least 2 of the 7 callers I heard actually gave their credit cards! If you go all the way to giving them the credit card #, the company claims to be Perfect Travel Promotions, customer support phone is 386 239 3076. They will send you a brochure in the mail to your address. I have seen on another scam site that they bill you $35 for the brochure, and if you do nothing, you'll be charged $598 for the package. It's for 4 people, supposedly is transferable, etc. What is curious is that they try different ways to get your CC# first, before telling you all the details. I would have hung up (most people do) at this point. They will sometimes ask if you're over 25, if you speak English, if you like the Caribbean (is it a place you'd go on vacation), etc. To get your phone number, they say stuff like "the machine that dials is on the 13th floor, and I'm on the 3rd floor, so I have to put you on hold..." To get your CC#, they try a couple of tactics. One: "the info in my computer file is incomplete. It says your CC# is with CIBC [a popular card] and it starts with xxxxx [5 numbers, which are easy to know since Visa with a certain bank will always start that way, etc.]...Another tactic was to say that the offer is only for 50 people, and they need to get your CC# to confirm your "interest" in the package. It's pressure. It was sad and sort of amazing to see how people fall for this stuff! If they didn't the scammers would not be trying.Sadly, it may actually be "legal" because they tell you they are recording your conversation to confirm your credit card number with their "legal department". I wouldn't be surprised if you can't get out of it with Visa/etc.
Many People Fall for this, Although you are getting the product is not At All what you were promised. Fees are not Told, the Cruise is not Free, after adding all the hiden fees that are not told, you spend almost as much as a regular vacation. You might save a bit of money because the attraction tickets are not cheap, but if you use the cruise you are going to pay lots of money.I wonder how many people out there actually bought this canceled and has not recieved their money yet?
here is the best thing to do: (this might take you a couple of minutes but it will be worth it)just go on with the presentation, get the agent information, and also the company information. they are expecting people to be scared of the promotion, and people thinking that the offer sounds to good, and they are trained to get passed this.after you get this information visit this site www.BBB.com and reprt themthey use many different company names, only one is registered , also many websites, get the main office adress act as if you were interested and they will spill all the information you need. they are supposed to add the people who dont want to be disturbed to a list but based on this reports on this site it looks like they dont do it. and thats trouble for them. **** NOW *** regarding the number on the caller ID, that can be changed anytime, is just a display number they make it a local number so we answer their calls thinking is someone local, not from out of state.if you dont mind taking a timeshare tour (thats what they are really selling) then you do get a good deal. the cruise has many hidden fees, so dont use it. and fight them for a lower price the best i have gotten is $300
i just got the call and they went through the speel. it's with travel world ,have to book air flights through them. pay $598 for up to 4 peopleor two adults 3 chidren . $2000 dollar return tickets each (i asked) plus who knows what else. i said thanks but no thanks. too good to be true. i thinks.
i was called by that company in august by a certain melissa who told me that i had a great opportunaty.i listened i paid and since then i m trying to get a refund wich seems to be impossible.is there any recourse possible against that company.please answer if there is one. i also would like to know if r.c.i. is aware of that company thank you
I received a call from David Scott telling me that I had won a holiday for 4 in Florida including a cruise they asked what credit card I used but did not request identification number this holiday was for 4 adults and would cost £398. Did not include air fare or taxes. This should be looked into by the authorities I am sure this amounts to false pretences and at the end of the day if you part with your cash you are a fool. There is a saying in the Uk and that is IF IT SOUNDS TO GOOD TO BE TRUE IT PROBABLEY IS.By the way where do they get there telephone information from
I have consistently been harrassed by a recording from "Heather at Account Services" to lower my credit card debt. Since I don't have any credit card debt (and never have)) I always press 2 to discontinue any calls. However they keep calling. (I don't have caller ID) It started in January 2008. I didn't keep track of the number of calls at that time, but in April I received 17 calls. So far in May I have received 5 calls & its only the 8th! They have called as early as 8am & as late as 10pm. Several times I have received 2 calls in one day. I am already listed in the National "do not call" Registry. I am at my wit's end. I don't know what to do to make it stop.
just got a call from this number. and like lots of other people, i LOVE telemarketers! so i had some fun with them, and then i think the girl was trying to hang me up but the next thing i know the phones dialing again and some random had picked up. when i realized that i could talk to them, i discovered that somehow they basically made me one of their reps! so i started offering people trips to the moon haha.
Got the call on my landline... Although I do know it's affecting cell phones too. I work for TELUS and this is a call driver for all carriers. I tried to extract a company name or location from these guys, but the scammers are well trained and they'll simply hang up on you if you don't cooperate or if you ask too many questions. DON'T GIVE THEM ANY INFO!
