Yes, it is Neilsen. I received the diaries in the mail along with two new $1 bills. They want you to do their TV viewing survey. It's no big deal and they are not pushy. They usually just call you to remind you the survey start date. They like to keep things accurate. My survey starts tonight and I just received their reminder call.
It's still Neilson, and they're offering $10 to do a survey on internet activities. I told 'em I charged $25, and they wanted no part of it.
Calls from this number several times a day, into the night, weekends (including Sunday nights). Annoying, they don't leave a message. If it's the Nielsen Ratings company, I don't mind doing the surveys or whatever if they mail me but I don't want the harassing calls.
they didnt offer me not a single red cent i am in california...maybe its because i am a low income household (toughtimes)and they assume i got nuthin better to do:( anyhow all this monitoring/legal spying and invasion of our privacy by the "Puppetmasters" is outrageous! I read a local cable/internet/phone providers rights, responsibilities uno..allthat legal CRAP, and it is signing away your life basically. I wish times could go back to when things were more SIMPLE. Can I get a witness??
If you are lucky and have phone service with Comcast like I do here is a fun way to jack with these kinds of companies. Comcast's phone system allows you to block up to 12 phone numbers also blocks all anonymous phone calls, block all overseas phone numbers and the one I love it allows you to forward up to 12 regular phone calls (not 800 or 866 etc...) to another phone number. I find legitimate phone numbers for these type of companies (the repeat offenders) and forward all the calls I don't want to the legitimate phone numbers of companies that are repeat offenders and block up their incoming phone lines with similar garbage phone calls. I only wish Comcast would increase the amount of numbers you can block and forward.
Be wary of phone surveys such as this. Neilson is a reputable company, but other bill collection or scams use a similar hook, and cashing a $5 check can give them access to your banking information.
"Are you a member of the household over the age of 18?" Yes. "Now I need to speak with the member of the household who had the last birthday." What? I thought that was such an odd question that I had to end the call there, even if it really is "NIELSEN RATINGS" (which I don't know whether it is or is not).
