Said they were from Verifax. It was a recording and I hung up

1-800-542-7434 ext 513. This people needs to get a legit job, they kept calling our company and asking to speak to HR/payroll etc and if you asked them what they are, they will basically tell you to give them info so they can give you info. HANG UP,THEY'RE FISHING!

They called my boss about me on his personal cell phone. He refused to say anything but that i work for him. So the called the store and the manager said they would get me and they hung up. Several times in fact. But everytime someone offered for them to talk to me they hung up.

Got a call from a company called verifax at work wanting to update my info and i wasnt thanking and i fell for it. Anything i can do to try to prevent my identity stolen???!

Also they called from 815-380-9642 and asked to call 800-542-7434 to "verify employment". They called yesterday also asking for an employee with two given last names. I did not want to give any information especially since I did not know who they were or what they wanted.

Just got a call from here, she said she thought she had the wrong number but was about to say my business name, & started to say my 1st name when I was like who is this & from where & why?!? She said the same thing everyone has posted here, & I was like what happens if I decline to answer your questions, she's like you can do that & hung up. I can't find a way to call the company back. I have taken your advice & called the atty gen... she says there is only 1 complaint. Looks on BBB & same thing only 1 complaint. I'll be making a complaint as well.

Called to verify one of my employees employment

Got a call from 815-380-9516 lady asked for me by my full name and wanted to verify my current address.How did she get my direct line at work?

800-542-7434, called my employer. Said they were Verifacts/Verifax, wanting to confirm employment. My boss woudln't give them anything without talking to me first. When I called even having an extention With the name "Eva", she said they were updating info for "banks, Insurance co.'s, student I.d. information, etc. not only did I not confirm my place of employment, but I asked her to be specific and tell me who gets access to this information? She said they don't sell it to anybody and would I just confirm my address. Then someone will send me a letter explaining what the info was for. I told her that I was not comfortable and would not be giving her anything. She said o.k., pleasantly enough and hung up.
