No, it is not Citibank. I called Citibank and that is not their number. Maybe by chance you had some late payment. This 816 number i linked to a cellphone of 516-816-4204. Do you see the same numbers in their cellphone?? And Citibank does not use an 816, only 800 or 888. Please do not be fooled by them.
This is NOT a legitimate Citicorp phone number. If you do have a Citi card (including Home Depot) and happen to be late, it's a coincidence. In any event, don't believe what other people on this or any other site tell you !Before you answer their calls - and most DEFINITELY before you give them any info about you including name, address, account number or Social Security number - call the phone number on your Citi-issued credit card, stop into any Citi bank branch, or go to their web site for their phone number, and CALL them ! Their fraud department will tell you it's a scam/fraud.If someone on this site insists its a legit Citi number calling you, they might be part of the fraud OR they were fooled by someone on the other end of the phone line.
I think some the scammers got numbers from a real credit card company. I did have a late payment to my card but after i paid it I started getting calls from this number. Sometimes as many as 30 a day. I reported it and then blocked the number.
They started calling me constantly leaving no message. I called back and they said it was CITI (I have 2 cards)but they asked for my card number and I hung up. Called citi they said they did not call me.Today they called and I was going to curse them out. They told me my full name, last 4 digits of the card, the exact amount due and said they had my banking information on file. I hung up and paid it online. This may be a scam call the main number or use the web for a payment.I have been getting returned email's and some people have told me my gmail sent them spam.My guess they accessed my email read a CITI email that had all that information.
I don't think they are. They called me and said they were from Best Buy... They also asked for my personal info. I would be careful about giving them too much info.
Said they were from citibank, and i was behind on my payment, wanted me to make a automated payment over the phone, and wanted all my info, its a scam
has been calling several times a day, never leaves a message. Scam!
They continue to harass and call throughout the day. How can I stop the calls,
i kept getting calls during work, at night from this number stating they were calling from Citibank, i check my Citibank account and i did not miss a payment so I called this number. They asked me to verify my ssn, my address, my mothers's maiden name and my maiden name and then said that i had an At & T credit card debt of $800 and it was a closed account. then told me they would investigate the credit card fraud. I think that i just had my identity stolen

This number comes up as a match to my name on Microsoft search results, and with a different age than MY true age. There is no other ME who has the same first, middle and last name spelled like this that I EVER came across. It's definitely a scam!
