I've been getting calls on my landline from CITI for over 2 months, morning, noon, and night, and weekends. I have one card that is not from CITIBANK, and CITIBANK said it is a scam number. I finally had to turn off my answering machine so it wouldn't answer CITI's calls. Never once did anyone leave a message, nor did I answer any of their calls. But unless I scroll back when I've been away from the phone, I have no idea if anyone else has called. This is more than annoying, family, my doctor, etc cannot reach me.
Not sure if its a scam or not because I did not call the number back. But I checked all of my credit accounts and in my particular case, I had missed my July payment to Home Depot which is a Citi Bank company. May be coincidence and maybe not. I'll see if I get any more calls from this number.
Been getting a good number of calls from this number over the last week or so but they NEVER leave a voicemail. We do have CitiMortgage but our account is definitely current so I see no reason for the calls especially if whatever they are calling about was not important enough for a voicemail to be left. For these reasons I suspected that it was a scam so I googled the number. After reading the other comments I am going to block the number.
Do not call our home number any more. You have call us 32 times this week alone. You never leave messages but continue to call. You have no business reason, nor personal one to contact us.Do not call us anymore.
If you have a Home Depot Card. Sears Card, Old Navy, or pretty much any other store credit card, that's what this is about. Citi "owns" a lot of store credit cards. Even if you don't have any store credit cards, pull your credit report- someone could have gotten a card in your name and you wouldn't know it until they charged up $1,000 and didn't pay. This is what happened to me and I didn't find out until they started calling and I decided to investigate.
Not necessarily - you can do everything online, including request paperless billing. I've got mine set up that way.
I just got a call from this number and let them leave a message. They identified themselves as Citi Client First, and said to call 866-420-4632 and anyone on the other end can talk to you. They never specified a name of who they were calling for. I called the 866 number back and the message said that I should input the number that is on my file. I entered the number they called. Machine came back with, "I'm sorry, we do not have that number in our system. Please enter another number on you have on file." Now since I don't give out any other numbers...nor does anyone in my family, I would have to assume this is not a ligitamite phone call. And upon calling back, why didn't anyone answer????
