Received a call from a number not recognized.

These are spear chucking cannibals calling from the Caribbean trying to get your SS and personal info to steal your identity.Do not give them anything and tell them that you have put a voodoo curse on them and their families.

The DNC is USELESS to keep your phone quiet. Robo-dialing spam callers either disregard, or are outside US jurisdiction. If you do not want to be bothered by robo-dialers (including the political, charitable, and survey exemptions from the DNC list), then you must take matters into your own hands. I did. I bought a Digitone Callblocker, a device that lets me "invite" wanted callers, silently block individual pest numbers, and also silently block offending area codes entirely. That covers the most important features, but the Callblocker also performs a few more interesting & useful tricks. Altogether, Callblocker guards my telephone line so well that the phone only rings for callers that I want to talk to. DISCLAIMER: The Callblocker works for me, not vice versa; I don't have any financial interest in Digitone.

I am also on the DNC list. I mistakenly pressed "2" to be removed and was transferred to a salesperson with a thick accent. He hung up on me when I asked him to repeat the name of his company.

Got caller ID? Simple. Just don't answer if you don't recognize the number or let it go to your answering machine. If you then recognize who's calling pick it up!!

I received a call from this number and it came up on caller ID as "D Republic Call." I assumed the call was from the Dominican and since I don't know anyone there I did not answer the call. They hung up before my answering machine kicked in.
