THIS IS A SCAM CALLER, DO NOT EVER GIVE OUT ANY INFORMATION TO ANYONE WHO CALLS YOU, IF you look the number up (beware of getting numbers from internet ads) and call a business you probably have a legitimate business, if someone calls you, your odds of a tele-scam is greatly increased no matter who they claim to be. This 849 963 4853 number on the caller ID is i-fake it is computer generated and relayed through many servers (They may be in the Dominican Republic or next door). The number will change next week. The call blocks will help with this specific number. Reporting the numbers also helps, the DO NOT CALL REGISTRY worked well when it was funded but is worthless at this time. This recorded message was targeted to seniors and about medicare diabetes supplies and pain relief, this is a rouse to get your (medicare number) Report to Medicare Fraud Unit. 1-800-447-8477 or social security number and your credit card information. They then sell this information to identity thieves, if you press any number it confirms your number as valid and confirms a business relationship and now makes your number resalable to these callers. Don't press any numbers simply hang up as long as there is a profitable incentive we will continue to receive these calls.
Received a call from this # today, 11-9 @ 2:18P Central Time. Came thru as: NAME NOT FOUND on caller ID. I picked up after 3rd ring, they had already hung up. They called the later part of October with same area code & prefix, but last 4 digits as: 3221.
This morning I received another of THOSE calls which are annoying but seemingly harmless if not answered. I have learned a great deal of patience from these calls....I no longer run to answer my phone.....I let it go and if it is important or real, the caller will leave a message. If no message is left, then I haven't wasted my time......Yay.....
You can go to the Digitone web site ( digitone.com ) then go to the Q&A section and download the manual. It tells all about it. I ordered mine yesterday.
every day same call....sometimes 3 or 4 calls. Dominican Republic scam. Isn't it just absolutely terrific to be on the Do Not Call list?
Thanks everyone! I subscribe to "Call Rejection" and caller ID...no more problems from unwanted calls, pranks, or scams; don't answer any unrecognizable phone numbers, UNKNOWN CALLER, OUT OF AREA, etc. Works better than DO NOT CALL LIST (another ineffecient Gov run office).
WTF... First of all suspicious of the (849) so I searched the location. Dominican Republic? The call had a recording that was in much clearer english than the live person that spoke to me. It was a BS phishing scam targeting seniors and medicare recipients. I waited for the options at the end. I selected the option to remove my name. Surprise it does not remove your contact information but still forwarded me to a lying scamming idiot that acted like he was there and ready to help me. I told him I don't know why it sent me to him I wanted off their contact list. I was then hung up on.This is obviously a low budget scam group because they didn't even bother to disquise the phone number to look like it was closer to home. Probably why these criminals are targeting the seniors. Please protect the seniors in your life so they don't accidentally fall prey. Also the Do Not Call list fails because there are ways to hide your true identity. We need to start putting pressure on the Government to force the phone companies to implement technology that can verify the true Caller ID and block ones that send a false phone #s. People should be able to have the right not to show their name with the # but a true phone # should always be sent. And if the phone company is then contacted about these calls and fail to act the phone company should then also be held liable. I tracked one # to AT&T and contacted them. They didn't refused to work with me but wanted me to have my phone provider contact them. Needless to say knowing for sure that AT&T refuses to take action they will never have my business.
this is some pain in the [***] call from the Dominican Republic. As long as you people keep picking up these scum bag saammers will keep calling. WISE UP--DO NOT ANSWER THESE CALLS.
