Have continuously received these calls = starts out as a recording- we are on the "do not call list".

Just got a call from Dominican Republic caller I.D. 849-963-4853. Didn't answer and after reading these postings will block it on my phone. Is it possible that if I answered it would be charged to my phone. I don't know. Perhaps someone does.

called at 9;46 hang up before answering would pick up . caller unknown. The jerks.

Call from 849-963-4853. Caller ID - unavailable. This is a SCAM! The number is "SPOOFED" - Google the word "spoofed" - it means it is PHONY! These people are crooks! Just don't answer calls you don't know.Should have an entry under "Call Type" below for - "Crooks"

Stop whining about it and turn it around on them. Do what I did. Get a Call Blocker. I got one from Digitone (and, no, I do not work for them or recieve any compensation from them. I just bought one and it works great). They cost about a hundred bucks and worth every penny of it. To date, I have tracked over 2200 calls and have blocked 742 of them (a solid 34%). Most of these calls were from telemarketers, telescammers, politicians, survey takers, and zombie debt collectors. Now I have them all blocked. This thing will even let you block by area code and use wild cards so that you can block entire regions of the country. You can also use "white list" blocking by blocking all numbers other than the ones on your contact list. Once again, at least for me, life is good. An alternative might be to find a number that when you call it, gives you a message that the number is not in service. Then you use your selective call forwarding and send all of your unwanted calls to that number (or your ex, whichever). Good luck to all of you.

Solution: Vote out Republicans. They support any type of business including (especially) scammers. They also want to cut back on "government" i.e. any agency that goes after bad products, contaminated food, and telephone scams. Democrats have always tried to protect you and me. They will enforce the DNC list, not tell the FCC to back off like George II did. As for out of the country calls, they come through American company lines. Make phone companies responsible for policing out of the country calls. If they persist, block the country until they clean up their act. (Somehow I suspect blocking the Dominican Republic would result in a very "permanent" solution for telemarketers.)

Caller identified himself as Rick Watson and said, 'Let me ask you a few questions," and proceeded to ask if I had an pre-existing conditions. My response is unprintable and he hung up.

Today I also got a call. I reported them to the Medicare Fraud Unit. 1-800-447-8477Before, I just acted like the TN hillbilly they thought they got and kept them on the Now let the Attorney General take care of it!
