My problem when I received my call from this number was that the caller failed to identify himself as anything more than Daniel. He did not tell me what agency or business he was calling from. He simply stated "he" needed to speak with "my name" and that "you have a problem with your insurance". He asked for my date of birth and I refused to give out that information without further information from him, at least the name of his company or the policy number or account reference number. When he would not supply any of that I felt a little uneasy about providing him my personal information, so I hung up. Any company calling to discuss an account discrepancy, insurance or not, should at least be able to name the company they represent.

Recent trip to ER. Cigna paid the out of network doctor - Hannah Grausz, MD - the in network rate (Cigna hires a 3rd party to set the usual and customary rate for the service - they don't underpay the rate the ER doc is asking for). In my case, ER doc - Dr. Hanna Grausz - asked for $1500 (more than triple the customary rate). I saw her for no more than two minutes. Cigna paid her $355 for those two minutes. She looked at my wrist, said, "It's broken", then sent in an orthopedic surgeon to do the rest of the work. Got an EOB from Cigna saying, "ER doc is asking above customary rate", which leaves me balance-billed at $1150. However, it's been a month and I haven't received a bill, but this EmCare company keeps calling me asking to verify personal info (I refuse). Dr. Hannah Grausz has all my info - she can send me a bill or not. I'm not dealing with an incompetent billing company in India who is threatening me. They are legally obligated to operate in good faith and are not doing so. I'm going to take the advice of another poster and prepare to sue for harassment. I'm going to review Dr. Hannah Grausz on doctor review's websites regarding this balance balance billing experience without having communicated, instead, going to a foreign 3rd party who is threatening to sue me and garnish my wages. If Dr. Hannah Grausz sends me to a collection agency and ruin my good, hard-earned credit, I will sue for whatever the cost difference between the mortgage interest rate I would have received compared to the rate I'd receive with dinged credit by her (her bill is inaccurate and she will not communicate with me outside of EmCare - EmCare will not accept the bill is innacurate (double-charges). Cigna has verified that she has Billed inaccurately. Another poster gave a link to an article that mentions EmCare - very informative. Click the link - it's an Atlantic Article. It's time to use every resource to hit ER doctors who over-bill, double bill, refuse to communicate, hire 3rd party collectors in the harassment business. Contact the hospital and complain that the doctor is not operating in good faith, contact a lawyer who operates on contingency to go after the 3rd party collection firm. Don't let these guys get away with doing business in bad faith.

I've been receiving calls from this number for a few weeks now every morning. While I did have an emergency room visit very recently, less than a month ago, the insurance is still processing all my paperwork. It looks like I might owe about $7 after all of my benefits are processed but I'm still waiting for my insurance to figure it out. Why am I being harassed over a claim that has yet to finish processing? Especially since the bill itself looks like it is going to be $7 since it was filed as "continuation of care" from a surgery where the hospital owes me several hundred dollars since they made me pay the pre-op before my insurance could finish processing that bill?If I don't answer, they don't leave a voicemail which is suspicious and unprofessional. I've answered only twice. The first time, I kept saying "Hello?" and got no answer. The second time, I finally got an answer from a very thick accented lady that I could not understand. When she asked for my address, I refused to tell her and hung up.

When I received a phone call from this #, a man stated he was calling on behalf of emcare services. He asked for my daughters date of birth. However he would not state the reason for the call unless I provided the information. Since I am very cautious about giving personal information out due to scams, I ended up hanging up. After doing some investigating & directly calling the ER department my daughter had recently visited they provided a phone # to the providers billing company. Although this company was located in the US they did say the they have a company located out in India that calls as a patient advocate. Basically the provider is not contracted with your insurance company & they are calling to see if you will appeal the claim before you are charged with the full balance. So I totally understand if you do not want to give personal information out, I am the same way, but you may want to call the ER & ask for the providers billing company information. Just thought I would share!

Rec'd several calls in both the evening and afternoons from individuals who speak very broken English, stating the whole "recorded line" thing, and that they were from EmCare, a Physician's Service Provider. The stated that there was a problem with my insurance (they knew my insurance carrier), and asked for my D.O.B. to confirm my identity. I asked which of my Physicians had asked them to contact me about this alleged problem with my insurance? They wanted my D.O.B. before telling me any specific info. I refused to give it and hung-up. I spoke with EmCare and my Insurance carrier, and they have NO IDEA who these calls are coming from. Number Blocked..... Moving on!

Got a call from this number today, was told that I owed emergency physicians group over $500. They knew the date of the ER visit, the hospital, the original amount I owed, what my insurance (cigna) paid and my birthdate (scary). I called everyone associated with my ER visit and was told I owe nothing.

I've been contacted by these people in the past. Although, their approach is 100% wrong and sets off all the scam alarm bells, they are legit. The first time they called me they said they were trying to collect on a past due medical bill. I told them I didn't have any past due medical bills because I had paid all bills sent to me. Then they asked for my date of birth and Social Security Number and I laughed and hung up the phone. I then looked up the company phone number here in the U.S. and called them back and got them to send me a copy of the bill in the mail. Here's what happens, let's say you go into the Emergency Room for treatment but one of the doctor's or caregivers is not in your network so the insurance company does not pay them at the rate requested. The provider will send you a bill for the difference and try to get you to pay it. I requested that they send me a bill in the mail and then I called my insurance provider. I explained the situation to them and said that when I'm in the emergency room, I'm not checking every person who comes into the room to see if they are in network, so I'm not "choosing" to go out of network for a caregiver and shouldn't be charged extra. The insurance company agreed and sent me a check that I could use to pay them. Answer the call and get your bills straightened out.

Just got a call from these guys. I also just got the number they called today on my new cell phone. I thought it was Verizon welcoming me as a new customer. I think someone dumped the number to avoid these guys? You should never ever verify anything. Even if you think it's yours. By verifying any information you could be assuming or resetting the debt. If it's legit, within a few days you should receive a demand for payment from the creditor or collection agency.

When you answer the phone they hang up. They are trying to see if the number is actually associated with a person or not. Most likely they will clone the number.
