JUST got a call from this number. Indian man told me that they were "calling all 'Windows Operating systems' because when you are going online you have many viruses on your computer". I told him I didn't know what he was talking about.. I don't have a computer and never go online. That I had NO idea what this thing "windows" he kept referring to.. that our windows were fine..and didn't need replacement.. we just had new ones upgraded, and they also work as storm windows , and kept out UV rays, and they look much nicer from the outside of the house, and were easy to paint..(blah blah blah you get the idea). He asked me if I had a computer. I didn't believe in computers. He said thankyou and hung up.
Him: "You just bought computer with Windows Operating System"from us. and like to help you with windows instalation and maintenance PC.is the 2nd call i recived from this guy., I told this guy to check clients # because i dont have or order any PC , he excused and hung up!!!!!!!! Be carefull this people like to still personal information
I get calls from this number as well as nco. We always let the answering machine pick when it is a toll free number. Or a number we don't recognize, sounds like a smart choice,
Just got the same call about 30 min ago and it was some Indian guy telling me he worked for microsoft. And that my computer had a virus he asked me if i was in front of my computer. He said he could help me get to fix the problem.. I'm at work and i know a bit about computer so i entertained him to see what he had wanted me to do. First he wanted me to go to run and then type in eventvwr. Once i did that the viewer poped up and under application he said do you see all those errors and what not, that's what is slowing your computer down. He said i can help you get rid of them . he then asked me to go to www.onlinepcwizard.com < My computer treated it as a broken site finally i just hung up. But all the storys sound about right on the mark on what he said and did. Thanks www for info like this and to you people
Almost did it. Went to internet, went to a certain site, than typed in a code which than had me download something about 60kb than I "connected" with the guy when he earlier said he was going to be giving me to some one else. I than closed out and disconnected from him when I saw it say downlaoding files... With him still on the phone He started going on a rant about how I "ruined" my computer and his( which he said would be some one else's computer). Aparently he said if I used my computer I would find out soon enough how big of a mistake I made. Right now I am on the computer that we were talking about and seems just fine!
I received a call from this # on my cell phone while at work today. I usually hang up if I don't hear anything on the other end, but I waited until a middle eastern speaking man came on the phone. He started to tell me that I have downloaded a virus on my home computer. I asked him for my home address and he began reciting an address that I moved from in 2003!!!!! Told him he was wrong, to take my # off his list and hung up!
Indian man who said I had all sorts of mal-ware, spyware, and viruses downloaded onto my computer from Yahoo, Google, and Facebook. They had me pull up a window full of folders and filoes, which, upon inspection, most of which were described as Configuration Settings. I asked how long the process would take and he said 30 minutes and I informed him I didn't have 30 minutes. He asked when he could call back to have me do the procedure. When I told him I was busy he said "I believe you" and hung up
got the call from an Indian sounding man, good morning when it was afternoon, told me my computer had viruses and the call was to FORCE us to OBEY. I told him I was working and did not have the time to deal with him and hung up, after I told him I had a hard time understanding his accent.
858 102 3252 - I've gotten this call more than once. Like almost all the other reports on this number, it was a voice with a thick Indian accent insisting my computer was full of viruses and wanted to prove it to me if I would just go to my computer and I need not even be online. When I asked him who he was representing, he answered "I represent your computer" after which I hung up. Now here is what is too much of a coincidence. I have an AT&T account and have been having problems with the Wireless router dropping my computer and other devices, ie. Ipad, Iphone, Netflix randomly and regularly. AT&T's tech was useless in helping me on this so I tried changing my security code and even my SSID. The coincidental part is that each time I did this, a total of 3 times so far, the 858 number comes calling no longer than a day after. Had not been having problems for some time now save for this AM when I had to reboot the router due to similar problems. Guess what ... my phone showed an unanswered call from the 858 number. Coincidence??? Believe it or not .... Anyone ?????
