Received a call today from PC Solutions saying they wanted to refund the fee we paid them plus interest and penalties. All in all, almost 50% more than initial contact. Hung up. So far no call back.
This is a computer scam where they talk you into having them put some software on your pc to clean it up and give you support for problem and then hold your PC hostage for money. They are not from Apple or Microsoft. They are from India and have breached an unsecured phone system in Connecticut and dialing through it so as not to be traced. Your best course is to hang up and block the number
Recently, I contacted best buy / geed squard with my home phone line, and left my number. After that, I receive the scam call several time.
See what happens when I don't look at my caller ID when answering calls like this? A voice with a heavy accent said "I'm computer technician calling about your computer." All I could say was, "You're doing what???" three times before I hung up. Yep, same thing as reported here already. Plus it's a REALLY NICE way to make it to my call blocker's black list. I only wish I could classify the call type being a scammer.
I missed the call and redialed the number. A recording said the number had been disconnected or was no longer in service.
This number called two non-published numbers of mine, immediately after each other. On the first line, I answered and immediately hung up. They immediately called back on my other line. Both lines are VOIP and serviced by Ooma.com.Since both of these numbers are non-published and only Ooma knows they exist and are tied to each other, I strongly believe Ooma has either been hacked or sold these numbers.
I was waiting for another call to my cell and answered this without paying attention to the number. Very heavy India-type accent and said his name was Anthony........that is as far as he got as I then looked at the number and hung up. There was a lot of noise in the background from other people making the same calls I'm sure.

Comes up in my phone as a medical clinic, but when I called them they're some business that supposedly works with Medicare? I'm too young for medicare. Scam call.
Sounds like a potential call center scam.
Said they were from Bank of America calling me about a fraud alert on my account. When I told them I do not have an account with B o A - they hung up on me. Ironic!
They said it's a business call from northern light. Not real and clearly spam. Northern light must have its phone numbers data leaked.
