I work for Wells Fargo and I can confirm that this number is not valid and is a scam. Do not respond or give any of your account information when calling back. They recreated our phone bank automated voice to attempt to phish information. STAY AWAY
Claims the Company is Wells Fargo. Has all the bells and wait-time like a real bank. They keep transferring the call. Lots of noise in the background. I don't even have an account at Wells Fargo. Does Wells Fargo care about this scam of their company. I think not.
I work on voice over ip phone systems and IT in general. DO NOT talk to anyone calling from this number! DON'T call this number to talk to Wells Fargo. When you call this phony number (866-272-7132), they simply forward you to the actual Wells Fargo system and since they're in the middle of the conversation, they just record your responses for account numbers, PIN codes etc. Now they can call in as you and hijack your account. If you get a call from this number DON'T talk to them, IT'S NOT WELLS FARGO!!!
They called me from 866-272-7132 and as soon as I answered the call, a woman said she had the wrong number (but I never gave my name or information so I'm not sure how they'd automatically know it was the wrong number). I did not try calling back because I already read many reviews about this phone number being a scam.
