I agree! Same thing happen here! Sold something on paypal, buyer states he never received it, case found in favor of buyer even after providing shipment info and signature that item was delivered and signed for!! They totally screwed us over and did nothing to help me out. Now they want money and in no way am I ever paying them back. They will never get my money or service again! Hate them!

I called the number back. It is a legit Paypal call. I did have a minor issue with my account and this CSR was very helpful. If you get a call and don't have a paypal I suggest you call them back and research it because someone has used your number.

People that sign up for paypal to cheat someone often make up phony numbers - but they are real and they are yours and mine and many other peoples. Then these people start "fake" selling on ebay and not delivering the goods or the goods are not what they said they were. I've been on both sides of this - someone signing up with paypal and not delivering as well as people giving out my number. They will not stop until you answer the phone and talk to them. They are trying not to get ripped off so they call.

You can't block your phone number when calling an 877 number so don't try that - they will still see it. You could answer the call and find out what they want. Maybe someone else used your phone number as theirs, then cheated someone and paypal just wants to ask if you know the person that did the crime. I had that happen to me - someone used my phone number so they called it trying to find that person. Once I said I didn't know them, my number was removed.How do you know that they aren't trying to help you from being cheated if you won't call them back?We all need to be honest citizens and treat others the way we want to be treated or this world will be full of people cheating each other. Just answer the phone - if they call after you answer it, then block them. If you owe them - settle with them if you can. You shouldn't cheat them and you shouldn't let them cheat you - but remember to do your best to treat others the same way you want to be treated. That's the only right way.

It IS paypal trying to protect us and them from criminals.

Don't give them back a thing. The money they have stolen off people amounts to millions! They are not a bank and not under any banking laws like any other establishment that handles money. With the numerous complaints against them, I do not understand why the gov't doesn't shut them down.

That happens a lot with PP. They do not protect the seller whatsoever against fraudulent charge backs. I used to be a big PP fan until they screwed me over too. They can go to hell with gasoline drawers on. If you did a transaction with someone who later down the road was accused of fraud, it will affect your account. They just take it out of your account and if not enough there they will try to take it from your bank account.Anyone brave enough to use PP for your transactions here's a few tips:1. DO NOT use the same bank account you use to pay your bills. Open another bank account to use with PP that you can transfer money out of it to your main account.2. If you have a PP debit card,use that to get your money out. Don't make the mistake of leaving thousands of dollars in there. PP will find a reason to take it. Heard many horror stories about that scenario. 3. Get yourself a Google Voice phone number that forwards to your main phone. You can block unwanted phone calls with the push of a button.They call me daily to give back money they gave back to a scammer. They do not have the authorization to give my hard work away for free. Plus I have screen shots the work was done. No matter what proof you have, PP always sides with the scammers leaving their sellers without any protection.Just like in eBay sales, the seller follows all the rules to protect themselves. Sending items that must be signed for. Then the customer says they never received. Meanwhile you, the seller, have the signed receipt in your hand as proof the item was sent and received. Doesn't matter to PP. The scammer gets to keep the merchandise AND the money! The seller has lost his money and his merchandise. They take your money out of your account putting it in a negative balance expecting you to pay them back. lol!There are pages and pages of complaints against them, so why are they still in business? They should be shut down and put in receivership. For far too long they have gotten away with stealing people's money and they are not even a bank!If you have a PP acc't BEWARE! It's only a matter of time before it is your turn and you WILL get your turn. Don't mistakenly think it won't happen to you. I was with them for 11 years and it happened to me. Run into a scammer once, you're done and your business ruined. I very highly advise to find another pay processor ASAP. Using PP you are just asking for it.

This number calls me 4-5 times a day and never leaves a message! its so annoying and I JUST bought this phone and service line. My grandmother doesnt even know this number yet let alone paypal. Plus, my paypal account only has a whopping $10 in it and has 0 activity because I never use it. Definitely blocking this number so i can get some peace and quiet finally.
