I received a letter saying that we a deposit had been made to a closed account -- along with a $100 cashier's check claiming to be from Chase with this number. When I called Chase directl (not using this number), they said this number is not theirs. The cashier's check is a fake. This is a phishing scam -- when you call, they will want more information from you in order to confirm your account details. Tear up the "check" and stay away!
I did not call the number, as the email it came in was so suspicious. If you receive a phishy email, purportedly from Chase, forward it to abuse@chase.com - other banks usually have something similar - and let them deal with it. Do not reply to the email nor call any phone numbers contained in it. You can usually send a message to a bank's customer service department from its own website, and obtain bona fide telephone numbers for it from the 'Contact Us' page.
The number is for the Chase Customer Claims department. If you are in doubt then call up the branch, and ask them to verify the number for you. They will provide you the same number 866-564-2262
Hi,I transwired my money my Bank account In Korea to my chase bank account in USA on Oct 22nd, 2012 . By my mistake, I accidently transferred money to wrong account number in chase, which I did not intend to. I asked Chase Bank In jericho which I have visited for requests to retrive my money many times. Also, I asked the bank teller that some gut could not take out my money. I showed the bank teller the telegram about my valid transaction. Although requested helps many times, after three weeks, Chase informed me he or she took out some of my money and only a little momey is left. So, Chase told me that Chase is able to retrive a little momey to me. I was embarassed and got upset.. If Chase take safety measures that the guy never take out my money, I could retrive my whole money. I suggest that Chase must take a responsible fot that. I'm wondering I FIRMLY BELIEVE THAT Chase have to protect my money. This is becuase I reguested Chase bank teller many times to retrive my money from the wrong account before the bad guy would take my money. But Chase never took the measures. Why Chase never listen to customer's problem and help me, a good customer? Chase have to retrive the rest my money. Pleae send me a quick reply(pinkykhs@daum.net)
I received this email saying they were with chase bank customer_service Liars ! They gave me a temporary Password To Activate My Account Information . I had a feeling it was a scam so I , Forwarded it to the FBI and Chase Bank . Don't Be Fooled By This !
The Lady I talked to at Chase 1-800-404-4111 hit 0 for an operator , said Chase Already has all my Information , and would never send an email like that !
I disputed 3 fraudulent charges that chase actually called me to warn me about. It was actually chase, i know this because not only were the charges refunded but i received a new card soon after. However, i received 3 emails stating all of the same information posted above, with phone number 1-866-564-2262, all referencing my old account number. I knew it was fake because not only did they send me an email after the issues were already cleared up by chase but also because they referencing an account that was no longer valid. I dont know how these people are accessing information from chase customers, but apparently chase needs to up their security. The number and links provided are scams for identity theft. Dont use them. Call the number on the back of your card and ask them about it.
I just received a call from this number following up on my dispute for fraudulent charges to my Chase account that I filed today. The message left stated that they were temporarily crediting my account and if I had any questions to call back the phone number provided. It also stated they would contact me once the investigation was completed. This is totally a legit number for my purposes. Best of luck to you all.
I just received the same email from "Chase Customer Claims" with 866-564-2262 listed at the bottom. I was skeptic so I called the number on the back of my card to verify the email. It is a legitimate email from Chase bank. They said it showed the documents of the claim (had to cancel my card recently due to fraud), but that it was not necessary to login and view them. If you're still having concerns, it's best to call the number on your card and explain to them the situation.
i deposited a check in the atm on wednesday july 3, 2013 i had got the check inside and all of sudden i got the screen saying technical difficulties.it said please take your check but the slot never opened. i immediately went inside to speak to customer service agent who called the claims department. the customer service rep gave them the information and told me someone would call me within 7 to 12 hours. until now i haven;t heard anything i have to keep calling them. what makes it so bad is they said the only thing they have to is check atm machine i just don't understand why they are taking so long. i have no reason to lie. i told them where the check come from and it is also a chase check. when i dealt with bank of america they credited my account while they did the invegestation. but this bank is a piece of work.and i have my reference receipt and i have the stub where the check come from. i am so angry right now
