In my case this was a fraud detection unit for Vystar Credit Union, my banking institution. They asked for the last four digits of my card, I gave it to them, and they asked about the last five transactions I had made. They gave me the places I had been that day and the amounts I had spent and asked me to verify them. They were correct. If it was fraud how did they have that information? I merely confirmed that I had made those transactions. Geez I hope it was real, they knew too much to be crooks, I hope.
This number is legit. I saw I had a missed call but no voicemail. Found this site and realized it might be a fraud alert. Checked with my credit union and yes - a fraudulent charge had been made on my debit card this morning. So if you get a call from this number, get in touch with your bank ASAP.
Sure it was, chump. And you couldn't wait to look up the number on an "unknown caller" site to tell everyone about the exciting news that you had received a "legitimate" call from someone.
So, they were able to inactivate my debit card ON CHRISTMAS EVE. I must wait 7 to 10 business days for my new card. It seems they are legit.
I'm somewhat confused. Half the users say this is a legit company, half think it is a scam. I received a call and the last 4 digits do NOT match my bank card. Could this be a mistake? or could someone have already stolen my identity and have a bank account in my name? Any help here would be great. Thanks.
This is a LEGITIMATE numbe. It is a fraud detection service from my Federal Credit Union. They verify you by asking you to press a number if they give the correct information about: Your name, last 4 digits of your credit card number, your social security number. Also, they ask you to verify the last 3 transactions on your debit credit card account. If you have any questions, they tell you to call the phone number on the back of your credit card. There is no appropriate "CALL TYPE" to select below.
Confirmed for fraud. I called my bank and said they had no record of suspicious activity and that no notes were made on the account. I gave then the phone number after they told me it was indeed a fraud attempt. Do not answer and do not give this phone number your info. Everyone saying otherwise are LIARS, SHILLS, MOTHEEFUCKERSYOU SHOULD BE ASHANEDI HAVE BARELY ANY MONEY AS IT IS YOU PIECES OF GARBAGEI Hope my reporting you gets your trash [***] shut down.
It depends on the company as to what options you have with the number on the back of your card. In my case, it's to report a lost or stolen card, period. There's no human available. All I can do is kill the card. Since the possible scam call is on a SUNDAY, I have to wait to confirm with the bank. Obviously a person of intelligence will be cautious and contact the bank, but sometimes the bank is available when you need it.
