I got a call from a person that they had an urgent matter to call back to the compliance department from bank of america at (877) 488-7848 I don’t have a BOA account is what makes this message not creditable.
This REALLY IS Bank of America. I was suspect and called the regular 800 number and a representative confirmed this is a real number.
This number is legit. I received a call, and I terminated the call because I felt like it might be a scam. I called the bank to report the incident. they said it was indeed a valid call and they transferred me to the compliance department. They needed some info on my account, and I hadnt checked my emails recently requesting that I call the bank.The number is legit, but if you don't feel comfortable giving information out like that, you should terminate the call and call the bank like I did.
Same here. They confirmed the number and transferred me, and I took care of the necessary business.
Called at least 2 times already...did not pick up...left a voice message claiming to be from compliance dept of BOA regarding an urgent matter...called BOA directly and also checked my account online for a security message...BOA confirms no such call was made by them and my online stuff is humming along...so blockade time is at hand...as a rule i don't answer such calls anyway...justice would be to hack her account and give her a taste of her own medicine...
Have received calls...don't answer...don't care...online BofA site has secure message center to handle any information requests...will not provide PII's to this number...they can go to Helen Waite who handles complaints
This absolutely is a scam. I called the # but did not give them any info. They sound really believable. I do happen to be a Bank of America customer, so I called the real # from their website to see if they really called me (they did NOT) and report it. Hopefully they can investigate and catch the scammers.
