Urgent message from BOA.Did not return call after reading prior comments.

had to add to my earlier post that the ski club did get a letter so this must be one of the legit calls. ski club is non-profit incorporated and bank needed country of organization, no 1099 or financial info....

Called to 'Update my personal information"; caller stated that if I was not comfortable giving PI, I could call them back; called the number back before I checked it out; The person that answered identified themselves as the Bank of America Compliance Unit; then she asked for my account #; I informed them that I did not have that information handy, she then stated I could proceed with my social security number, I informed her that I would get the information and call back; Was not comfortable with the situation, therefore, I checked on line and found this scam notice.

Claimed to be Carlos from the Bank of America Compliance Department claiming there was a problem with my account. Called actual Bank of America and was informed that my account was in good standing and that the Compliance Department doesn't exist.

Message regarding urgent matter and to callback ASAP.

Caller id was TOLL FREE CALL. Call was blocked already. Could be especially troubling to unwary Costco members who just got BOA cards to replace the AMEX.

This must be an organized criminal group. A man with thick Indian accent left a voicemail on my cell that he was calling from Bank of America compliance department regarding urgent matter. He insisted to call back and give the reference number. I was aware that this is scam, and called back the number provided. The call goes to the automated answering machine "You have reached bank of america.." then insists to enter the reference number on the key pad. It doesn't matter what you enter, it will say they are not able to locate the reference number, therefore, enter your bank account number, social security number, or business tax ID.

Left msg that was from compliance processing Dept about our acct, request to call back at this #, or call other # if an error of this call for you. Very strange that my phone log can't show the caller phone, just pump out # unavailable. I did not call back any # that left on the msg. It guess it is scam. Be careful! They are very professional with recorder proper clear language to make you believe it is calling from bank.

They called and left a message to call this number back as they needed 'important' information' regarding my account. It was a robot call and did not mention my name. Obvious scam.
