It's Verizon. Not a scam. They call to notify you about your bill, usually FIOS. It's not a telemarketing call. The call leaves a reference telephone number to call, and if called, is answered by Verizon. They SHOULD use their real id on the call.

This number calls 3 and 4 times a day never leaves a message,when I get more information I will report them.

Do what I do. Buy a whistle and blow their ear drums out. They stopped calling me.

Received a call today from this 800 number but didn't answer. I googled the number which brought me here. While reading the entries my phone notified me that they left a voice mail. I listened to the voicemail which was silent for a few moments and then it was a computerized voice telling me my verizon bill was past due and to call the a certain 800 number. After reading "Concerned Reader" and "Nozirec" I decided to check my bill online (which I just paid a week or so ago). Funny...My bill is current and NOT due until July 27th. Today is the 19th. I definetly agree with the others IT'S A SCAM!!!!!

I would've told you the same thing, Bill. You call them, they say, "Thank you for calling Verizon" and you tell them there's no way to verify they really are Verizon? Sheesh.

I don't even have Verizon and this number is calling me between 3-7am, yes AM not PM. WTF?!?!?!

Yeah so??? the do not call list does not stop scammers from calling you or charities or market research companies. The only companies who abide by the do not call registry are legit companies. 99% of the people on this website are on the do not call list

I received a phone call regarding a past due bill. I have not been a customer with Verizon in 6 years. This same company called me daily approximately one year ago regarding the same. When I called them to tell them I did not have an account, and to stop calling, they told me they could not stop the calls unless I provided an account number. I told them I cannot provide an acccount number for an account I do not have. They informed me they could do nothing, and they continued to call. The calls finally stopped, but this morning I received another one. I don't know who to contact in that company to make this stop. They are burning up my time and my cell phone minutes. I reported this to the Do Not Call site.
