I received a letter from "Suntrust", today. It was dated November 27 and it stated they had placed a temporary block status on my card until I call and validate the activity. Today is December 3rd and my card has been working just fine. I will call my Suntrust bank tomorrow and see if this is valid.

This is a legitimate call. I was doing Christmas shopping yesterday and spent a lot of money on this card. Suntrust called and left message. I don't trust anyone like that, so I called the customer service number for my card, and it was Suntrust who called after putting a hold on my card. They released the hold after verifying all the charges I put on my card yesterday. Always is safe to make sure who is really calling though. They said they would call, text or send a letter to reach in case of fraud.

Not sure why SunTrust would block their caller ID, and not leave a message......if it's legit.

It is scam. I don't have any suntrust credit card ar anything related to this company but they insisted calling twice a day at least. Spam!

In my case it was legit from this particular number, though I have gotten scammer calls before, as well (though not from the same number.) I think the key is, if you're unsure, hang up and call customer service from a number you know and never give out specific information on a call that claims to come from your bank. If they ask for account numbers or passwords - call your bank.

Received 2 calls from this number today. The second time they left a message saying it was Suntrust Fraud department, mentioned the last few digits on the card in question, and a message for my daughter by name. The number is legit. When she called the number on the back of her debit card, they confirmed that 888-394-0586 is a legitimate number from their automated fraud alert team, and that tbere had been some charge activity that triggered their call.

Got a call and text around same time. Asking to call this number. it does not match the number on the back of the card or the suntrust website. Guy with thick accent said he couldn't help and transferred to the fraud department. The girl with the same thick accent wanted to get an account number from me, despite not having an account. Wasn't concerned about the number that received the message or the name of the person. This is a legit number/call from SunTrust. I received a vm message to call this number back. I did, however it was a recording and I felt it was suspicious. I hung up and called SunTrust directly and transferred to their fraud dept. There were a couple of suspicious charges on my account and they were calling to question if it was me. They were indeed fraud charges and SunTrust ensured that they would handle closing the card and issuing a new one. I was provided a case number to boot. I greatly appreciate SunTrust looking after my best interest.

This is the second time I've been called by this number. The first time, like most, I was suspicious and called the number on back of my card. Someone from another state was trying to charge my account which would have totaled over $1,000, so it was indeed Suntrust that called me and they declined the transactions. I just received a call today, and yes, someone else was trying to charge my card, but they Suntrust declined it and now sending me a new card. It is totally LEGIT.
