This phone number is a SCAM. The fraud department phone number on Suntrust's secure website is DIFFERENT.Please note that there is nothing to prevent scammers from logging anonymously into *this* website to provide you with likely stories to try to get you to call.
This is a LEGITIMATE call from SunTrust's security department. They called twice but did not leave messages because I do not have my voice mail personalized with my name. I called the customer service # who verified the calls and informed me that a hold was placed on my checking card after making a large purchase from Louis Vuitton store online. Louis Vuitton also charged $1.00 to the account first before the true purchase amount which is what raised the red flag. They transferred me to the security department where I had to confirm the charges were authorized. The hold was then released. They are doing their job in securing your money!
Received three calls today with no messages. I don't have my voice mail set up, so may have been due to that. I checked my online account and found that there were two purchases that I did not place today in a different state. One of the purchases was under $1, the other was $20.01. Because this looked suspicious, I called the number back. The automated voice confirmed my number, asked for the last 4 digits of my debit card and my zip code, then confirmed my name. I was not sure what the purchases were so was put on hold to speak to a security representative. After several minutes of being on hold, the automated voice announced that no personnel were available and that my account is now pending--so I can't use my debit card--until someone from security reaches me again. Despite the parallels between the persistent calls and suspicious purchases, I'm still skeptical and will call my local branch during working hours for more information.
This is 100% NOT a scam. I didn't answer and then called suntrust business and was forwarded to the fraud dept, where there was a potential fraudulent charge on my account. When asked, why they didn't leave a message, the CS rep said their system should have left one, but was unable to.
I got a call from this number claiming to be SunTrust calling about potential fraudulent charges on my card. I called SunTrust's regular customer support and they confirmed that it was a legitimate number and transferred me to the fraud department. There was no fraudulent charge, I just bought something from Europe online and they held the charge for me to confirm. The entire system is automated unless there are charges to your card that you did not authorize. If you get a call from this number, call your local bank or the SunTrust customer support number on their site to confirm. They will be able to confirm or deny that SunTrust's fraud department is trying to contact you.
pretty sure this is NOT a SCAM number, i tried to make a purchase online it was declined and less then a minute later i got this phone call
Confirmed this is a legitimate number. Contacted Suntrust's customer service and she was kind enough to transfer me to their security department. Apparently someone tried charging 470 dollars to a Home Depot in New York, and I live in Florida. Never been to New York in my life. lol
This is legitimate! They called me two times. At first I ignored the call because of reading it could be a scam. But then I decided to call Suntrust directly. There had been charges made with our bank card in Italy. If you get the call and do not feel comfortable giving the info over the phone, simply call Suntrust and talk to them at a number you do feel comfortable with. Obviously, the people on here saying it is a scam are probably part of the scam itself and don't want you to check on your accounts. I say, instead of ignoring the call, like a previous person posted, call Suntrust and make sure everything is ok with your accounts, because someone enjoyed a hotel stay in Florence Italy on me last night.
People who are saying number is a scam do not even know what they are talking about, please check your sources before posting bogus comments, this number is legit as i just called it cause my card was frozen due to someone selling my info to someone using itunes in china to try and make a purchase using my account
