This number calls me late at night and starting 8am in the morning. Also, they hang up when I answer. If this is really Wells Fargo, I will be changing banks. Whoever is saying this is a real number could be part of the fraud. Now I have to investigate call blocking.

I recieved a call from this number. When the automated voice started asking my area code I hung up. I called the number back and the voice said it was Wells Fargo fraud prevention. I hung up again and called Wells Fargo. They couldn't find the number but when they connected me to the fraud prevention service they said that there had been some unusual activity with my credit card. Since I hadn't used it they cancelled my card and are sending me a new one.Thank goodness they caught it early! Now I am trying to think how someone got my credit card number. A few days ago I saw the Nu-wave oven on TV and called in to order it. I decided not to get it but then I started getting calls from sales people at 207-618-1477. Since I finally did order from them and give them my card number I am wondering if this is connected. Has anyone else had their number stolen after calling in to order something on TV ?

It is a wellsfargo phone number-- fraud department. They called me today to verify about a fraudulent transaction. I did not call back, but called the number on the back of my credit card. They told me that this was indeed a Wellsfargo phone number. Then I called them back and they verified a transaction on my account. You can trust this number.

I received a message from this number on 1/17, a bank holiday here so I wasn't able to call to verify if the call was legit. If is it, Wells Fargo needs to invest in a better automated machine...the quality of the voice message was horible at best.

Wanted to verify VISA transactions

I had a voice mail from this number this morning. All it said was, "Recent activity on your Wells Fargo credit card," followed by lots of static. Very odd. However, I logged on to the WF website and saw that there were pending charges that had not yet been posted, so I called the bank, and sure enough, someone had gotten hold of my credit card information somehow. I am thankful that they caught it right away so I could cancel the charges and the close the account. This number might not be operating entirely correctly (judging by the voice mail I got), but it does seem to be legitimate.

I keep receiving calls from this number. They claim to be Wells Fargo, but I don't have a wells forgo account looking to verify transactions for a person that I've NEVER heard of....plus I've called wells Fargo from their website, they don't have this number registered. Bottom line....too shady, how can we get these people shut down?

I just called Wellsfargo Fraud Dept: 1-866-867-5568 They stated that 1-888-671-2468 is not associated with them at all. The gentleman stated that a person would be calling you and not some automated system. I also called their regular banking # at 1-800-869-3557 and they said nothing on my acct. looked negative. So both depts had stated that there was nothing at all questionable on my acct.. BEWARE of automated systems NEVER type in personal information ALWAYS make sure your talking to a human being personally on the other end of the phone from a real number that's provided from the company itself either from their website or paperwork that already has your personal information on it from them. This 1-888-671-2468 is DEFINITELY A SCAM. DO NOT GIVE ANY INFO. TO THIS #. Anyone on here stating that it's not a scam you can see their liars by going to Wellsfargo's website and personally calling them yourself and asking them if 1-888-671-2468 is from them or not. You'll personally find out that it's not and want to avoid those who are saying it is. Their probably the scammers from 1-888-671-2468 trying to defend their deceptive and corruptive practices.

I called Wells Fargo about this number 1-888-671-2468 and they told me it was definitely not a Wells Fargo phone number. The scammers told me that I had suspicious activity on my account-two charges were made- and that one went through and the other was declined. When I checked my account there was no evidence of any unusual activity. The scammers told me that they canceled my card and I found out from a real Wells Fargo representative that the card was still active! THESE PEOPLE ARE CROOKS. Do not give them your personal information.Who are these people on 800NOTES that are saying the number is legit??? Call the number on the back of your Wells Fargo card first. They will confirm what I am saying,
