Woman with heavy accent said she was from The State of Texas Development Office and asked where/ when we're moving. I put her on hold and found this page. I told her not to call back and simply hung up.
If they would call when I had time to play I'd just keep lying to them to see how long I could keep them on the phone.I guess "hold please" would work too.
Man with a heavy accent called and said he was with Texas State Development Board and asked if had found a place to move to, or if we were still planning on moving. I told him I was busy and had no time for his b/s call and hung up. He proceeded to call our office probably 50 times over the next 15 minutes. We have several people that answered the phone, we let it go to voice mail, and he just kept calling, finally I transferred him to the fax line and he did not call back again.
Received a call from "Brenda" from this number claiming to be from the State of Michigan Development Office. Proceeded to ask if we had found a new location yet for our business to move to. Our business has never looked for a new location...
Same here - had one call claiming to be from the CIty of London Business Development Bureau. When I refused to give out information, they called back claiming to be from the office of national statistics instead.Would love to know who this is.
I received a call from some dufus claiming to be with the State of Colorado blah blah blah. I said his area code was 889 and that is not Colorado and he said they are calling for the State of Colorado and are we planning on moving or have we moved already. I told him we do not give this information out and he started to say something again about State of Colorado blah blah blah.I do not get why they keep asking if we have moved or are we going to be moving soon. Why would someone need to know this information?Dumb a*s telemarketers.
Same story. A woman with a foreign accent said she was from the Colorado Business Development office and wanted to know if our business was moving soon. Told her we aren't and have a real estate agent and won't need their services. She immediately hung up.
We just received the same call at the office here. The woman introduced herself as Vicky and has a nice smooth voice with slight accent (sounded a bit southern with a mix of african)Vicky: Hi my name is Vicky and I'm calling from the Canadian development office. We were wondering if your office was still planning to move?Me: I'm sorrry, I'm not sure I understand what you're talking about. Who are you, how did you get my number?Vicky: We're calling from the Canadian development office and we're looking to know who is moving in the city. Is your office still looking to relocate?Me: Not to my knowledge. But this stuff is handled by our head office.Vicky: ok.Me: Sorry can I get your name again and your phone number?Vicky hangs up.I googled the number and found this site. I'm currently calling the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre.
I'm getting the same calls - supposedly from the State of New Jersey - Department of Business Development. They ask if we are still planning to relocate or have already found a new office location. Eventually they hang up when I refuse to answer their questions. They usually call every day - or at least every other day.I see these same comments are being reported for 888-000-5555.Once in a while I just play on the phone and string them on. I wonder how many times I can put them on hold?
