Think this some sort of a call centre that collects data. I didn't register my business anywhere, but put in on google map. I guess this is how they found me.Obviously they are not a government office. I asked them to what number I can call back, and they disconnected the call.

Yep same freaking call from this number 889-777-1117 claiming to be CA Development Office. I'm sure they are trying to steel information

Rec'd a call from a heavily accented woman stating she was from the State of California Business office. Asking if we were moving. I hung up on them.

SCAM! SCAM! SCAM!!!It's some kind of scam but not sure what they collect information for...They call us saying they are from the State of Florida Business Development Office... I told the guy (It's always someone with a Hindu accent... So definitely a Call Center) that I had checked with the State of Florida and there was no such number nor office making those calls and what was it they were trying to get from me... (They always do ask if you found a new place or still moving and that they are trying to update their records, but if you ask them "who are you calling" they have no idea whao you or your business are)...THEY HUNG UP RIGHT AWAY!!!

This person calls 2 times per week saying that they are with the Missouri State Development Office. I've asked repeatedly to be taken off of their call list and they hang up. The same woman/women call with an Asian accent. This time, I asked if it is a gov't agency. She said it was. When I asked to be taken off the call list, she asked "are you just a receptionist? If you transfer me to the owner, we won't keep calling". I asked for her email and website address. She hung up.

As of 2/27/13 area code 889 is unassigned. If your Caller ID utility shows area code 889, the caller is "spoofing" his Caller ID (meaning that the caller is broadcasting a fake Caller ID to your phone). 022813 - Received call stating they were from Gov of AB Business office. When the opearator asked some questions I got suspicious and googled the 899 number they were calling from. I asked if she could hold and she hung up. Bogus call!

Called asking if we were planning on moving. Given that this is a fake number from an as-yet-unassigned area code, there is no reason to do business with them.

Supposedly from the Washington State Business Development Office. I'm always suspicious when a cold caller starts off by asking me how I am. People with legitimate business to conduct never ask how you are. They say who they are and describe why they're calling. When someone I don't know starts off by asking me how I am instead of stating their reason for calling, I assume it's a scammer and hang up.

We recieved a call today from this number 889-777-1117. Claimed to be from the Ontario Goverment. I am located just outside Toronto. First question was he asked when we were planning on moving. I responded saying we are not planning on moving and then they hung up the phone on me.
