Received a call from (889) 777-1117. The caller mention she was from the State of Texas, the Business Development Section. She left a phony name, Jen Collins. No one from any State Agency calls to verify one's business address. If there is a discrepancy with State documents of any type, the State will contact you by snail mail. The State does not have the time to place calls. This was some unscrupulous hanky panky real estate business verifying the address they have on hand. When I dialed the telephone number, a recording informed me that the call cannot be completed as dialed. From now on, I will give them the address of either the police station or some sort of brothel.
I received a several calls last year and this year from this number. They say they are from The State of Texas Business Development Office and gave a phone number to a local wrecker service. She says her name is Amanda Craig. Last time she said that there was a bomb in my office. Awesome, a terrorist threat!
Well, it appears these scammers are on the prowl again - I too received a call from them today. First time for me, but guess what....that's what call blocking is for. They won't be reaching me again - at least not from this number.
Got a call from this number from a man with a thick Indian accent. The caller ID said "Name Not Found". I missed the first thing he said, but he asked, "Are you (gave our business name) located at (listed our business address)?" I made the mistake of saying yes, but I immediately had some suspicions, so I asked who was calling. The man said, "This is Marcus, and I'm the office"...(click) and he hung up on me. I thought he was starting to say 'office manager', but based on this website, I assume he was about to give a fake 'office of something or other' business name instead. What is wrong with these people?!?!
889-777-1117 Just called and said they were from the Missouri Development Office and then proceeded to tell me the address, phone number and name of the location. The caller then asked if "my business" was looking to move in the near future. I told her no, the University I work for isn't planning on moving. She then proceeded to get a little nasty and said "Ma'am I'm just trying to do my job and we were told that your business was trying to relocate." Wow! Really?
This number called our office today and claimed to be from the State of Missouri Development Office. They asked if we were moving. Same situation as the other reports shared on this website.
Get this call regularly, at least twice a week. Someone claiming to be from the "British Columbia Business Development Office" and are we planning on moving blah blah. The caller always hangs up when I ask a question or tell them that there is no such listed business as the British Columbia Business Development Office. Very annoying but they will not take the hint and go away.
Just got a call from someone that I could barely understand. Asked her to repeat where she was calling from and it was something to do with California Department of Business Development, just like the other posts. I know these guys are probably either scammers or list building to validate working phone numbers, but what I find most interesting is that I just yesterday went to the Vistaprint website to order new business cards. I filled out their form, but then changed my mind and figured I'd come back later to actually place the order. And today I get a phone call from someone using that phone number, asking if I'm moving my business. Didn't think about the connection until a pop up Vistaprint ad appeared on this very complaint page I'm on...... Hmmmmm.....Guess I will just make my own business cards on my home computer. Not sure if there's a connection but it seems awfully suspicious.
"NJ State Business Development Office" 1. Please confirm your location address: Did that. 2. Have you decided on your new business location yet: HUH?? 3. I hung up and placed this number in my telemarketer block list. 4. I suggest you do the same.
My coworker answered the phone and I told her to hang up. She called back once to which my coworker hung up immediately. When she called again the third time I answered and she said "I wonder why you hang up on my call" to which I replied "please take us off your list, thank you". Before hanging up I hear her yell "NO! I LIKE TO SPEAK WITH YOUR MANAGER!" *click* Then she called back..7 TIMES
