they call like 3-5 times a day and all they say is :This is an important call for Ursustacio. Press 1 to be transfered to the next avaiable agent." They don't even say who they are what this is about and who is this Ursustacio, it sounds like a made up name.
Just say this..."According to the FDCPA, you are ordered to stop all contact AND communication immediately"They will DIE! The Fair Debt Credit Protection Act was formed to protect consumers from harassment. If they ever violate again, they can be fined over $11,000 for each offense. Also, contact can include mail and email.
Several calls from this number to my cellphone. When I answer, it hangs up with no further conversation. Very annoying.
you guys are idiots the calls will stop coming if you just pick up the phone and answer the questions needed and pay your bills
just curious how to stop all this. I have been receiving collections call from this number and a few others on my mobile and my home phone. I have only given these numbers to my bank, employer, schools, and both finance companies for our vehicles, all other busineses have a number we only use for their purposes. Since I posted my resume online a few months ago (supposively with private settings, which I have done before) I have been receiving calls from anon callers who say "they have important busines" to discuss with me. They only have my first name right, the last name begins with the same letter as mine, but they always have it wrong. What can I do to get them to stop calling me? I have been successful with one, but now 2 new companies are calling. Just curious since I already know they are in violation by not stating who they are and I've already called them on it; the calls never stop. I figured you would know since you have collections experience. Thanks!
Is this FDCAP OR WHATEVER I don't remember letter for letter, but is it legal and binding? If so I would like to know.
If we call and it just hangs up, it's a dialer. If we're calling you and it's you we're looking for. Just pay your damn bill and we'll stop calling you. It's quite simple. Oh yeah and if we have the wrong number, call us and let us know, it's the only way the calls will stop. Pay the damn bill and MAGIC no more calls!!!
... until I decided to block their number. For you folks with iPhones or Androids or like me, with Windows Mobile, get yourself a call rejecting app and you're set. If you don't have any of these puppies, call your carrier and see what they can do for you with your current phone. I realize some of us don't really owe anything and the collector is truly wrong in calling. But some of us do owe, we know it and no amount of apps or screaming obscenities or letters won't hide the fact that we do owe that money. We might not want to pay it, a whole different story that. But once DCI stops calling, the CFI will start and DMA or TRP or whatever acronym you can come up with. After some time the debt gets sold off to other companies who in turn try to collect themselves, accounts get reaged in your credit, frankly just for you talking to the collector. And if you pay your first installment, the countdown starts from 0 all over again and when you stop, there's the 30 day, the 60 day, the 90 the 120 late notices in your report. Best thing to do is to have absolutely 0 contact. If you know you owe and you know you want to ride this thing out for 7 years until it gets flushed out of your credit report, do the only thing you must do: Don't pick up the phone! Anything they threaten you with is just as likely to happen to you as you getting struck by lightning!
They are using a davox calling system! They use to call us all the time in VA at our 703 number! They do not skip trace!!!! That is so apparent! So, if they are calling you over and over and you do not have a loan with them talk to someone in charge and tell them you will take it to court like we did if they do not stop calling you. They can remover your number from the system and block it from calling! DO NOT TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER! They just call my husbands 760 cell number today! If they call back I will be pissed! HE is in the Navy and deployed I do not need this crap again! Legally if you ask them to stop because you prove you do not have a loan with them and they do not you can take then to court! Trust me they do not want that!
