after countless calls, i told them i WAS interested in their service and asked for their phone number and address. they told me 931 finch ave. NORTH! lol when i told him their was no north, only east and west, he tried to tell me BOTH! lol i said i live in toronto and know the street. he said "you're not in toronto, you're in _____________ . i said it's a suburb of toronto. if they call again, i'm going to set up an appointment so i can get the company face to face and hopefully have the police waiting for them at my door. hopefully, my irritating him will get me off their call list. and yes, this phone number shows as not in service...don't know how that's possible, but maybe it's about time we all turn the tables and irritate them. i think that's the best bet to get the calls stopped.
They called me and i agreed to the service. I was uncomfortable and tried to call back to cancel but the number is not in service. I am trying to find a number to reach them at so i can cancel but no luck.
Its on or about 1:35PM when my phone rang. Someone was trying to tell me something I could not hear. 5min later the call was ended by the caller. When I retrieved the number it was this 905 number. Called my phone line provider to get more information. Not lucky! But they told me it was coming from Cold Spring...somewhere in the Toronto region. When I called the number, for response I got ...This number is not on service...And guess what???It's been a week since I have my line connected!!!!!Now, to whomever is making those calls..Could you please stop...Form the anonymous
These idiots call me about 3 times a Day, I just hang up without saying anything.I hate to think there are people who actually accept their offers, if no one does ,maybe these Jerks would give up.
Indian telemarketing sweatshops do not give a rat's behind about Canadian consumer laws or do not call lists. These people are 10,000km away from Ottawa. They are immune from the CRTC and they know it.They only understand things that hurt them where it counts: The bottom line. Profit. Money. As a consumer and a recipient of these calls, there are exactly two ways you can cost them money. You can book an appointment and then refuse the service when they show up at your door, or you can waste the telemarketers time when he calls in order to destroy his hits/hour ratio.By booking an appointment, you put yourself in the position of upsetting somebody who lives in your hometown and who knows your home address. Proceed with appropriate caution if you choose this route.By wasting the time of the telemarketer who calls, you will eventually frustrate them to the point where they become verbally abusive and start yelling at you - especially once they realize you've been playing them for a fool for the last 10 (or ideally longer than 10) minutes. This is a good outcome. This means YOU WIN the game! This means they will report your number to the manager of the sweatshop where they work, and your number will be taken off their list forever, because your phone number impacts their margins. You are unprofitable.
Just to give you a hand, and so I do not feel like I am the only person doing this, you need to go on the website for the National Do Not Call List and/or call in to them (their contact info is on their site; yes they pick up during business hours, and yes, they actually do help). When these duct cleaning people call, you need to get as much information out of them as you can. First, get the name of their company, they will ask you why you need this, lie, tell the truth, it does not matter. Ask whom you are speaking with to get the persons' name, and ask if you can have a call back number (I usually say that my parents are not home but I can get them to call them back. It's easier to get information out of them when you do this). You can give all of this information to the National Do Not Call List poeple and they launch an incestigation on the company, it's even better when they call you 12 times a day because then that is labelled as harassment. I know this is a lot of work for something you did nothing to envoke, but I have been fighting the same battle and I know how it feels to be harassed multiple times a day.Best of luck! Hopefully more people will read this and do this. The more people on our side to fight this harassment, hopefully we should see a decrease in these phone calls.
i just start laughing at them every time they speak i laugh in there face really loud, eventually they hang up and never call again. you must take up there time for no reason. tele marketing should be against the law its disgusting. and the industry is full of low life scum bags wgo are just out to scam you
