The problem with these numbers or persistent callers is when they do find out they have a "live" number, they put you on a list and sell your number along with many others to other organizations and charities. Plus I quit giving to these charities when I found out just a very small amount of the money they collect actually goes to the charities they represent. This is a big money maker and charities do not benefit at all from them. It's best to give locally so you know that your money goes to the charity of your choice. You are otherwise throwing your money away or giving it to someone who should get a real job.

Don't believe what they say!I could call and say I'm collecting for pelosi, or Obama, or fireman etc etc. these "charities " are not ?Your major charities you already know, heart, cancer lung etc. these others are trading on your kindness,I could also go on line here, like I'm doing now and say 'these guys are okay, I used to work for them, ....I donated to them.....they re legitimate". Etc.Bottom line, don't answer, don't call back, don't talk to them.

This is actually a number that calls for a number of charities, usually one with which you have had prior business. It's eem less shady if they didn't spoof their caller-id.I'm done donating to charities who act shady like this.

Seeking funds for a legal contribution to combat planned parenthood. Very snarky but became silent when I accused them of violating my fight of choice. Requested name of firm and they promptly hung up.

This number is supposedly soliciting political donations for Republican candidates, but emanates from 909 area code (Riverside Californika). We live in Southeast Georgia. What are the chances any of our candidates will see a dime? Slim or none? Just goes to show how stupid people in Californika really are. But then, look who they've elected, especially to the US Congress.
