Pull up the laws regarding collection agencies, and for how long they can recoop their monies owed!!! You DO have a certain amount of legal protection!!! Also, call the FTC... Also, I found that recording the conversation is quite helpful.. just ensure you let them know, at the beginning of the conversation, that they're being recorded... we most assuredly don't want there to be a lack of customer service, now do we??
Someone called my son from 912-629-7505 and he didn't answer the call so a voicemail message was recorded. He listened to the message and called me, stating that someone had called from the number and that I needed to call 912-629-7505, that it wasn't a sales or marketing call. So I call them, wanting to know what was going on. The first person I spoke with, I told them what my name was, the person repeated my name wrong multiple times and then tried to verify an address I haven't lived at in over two years. So that was the first red flag. I asked the person what they wanted, still, not getting any information. The person put me on hold and then hung up. I called the number back because I wanted to know what the deal was. While I waited for someone to answer my second call, I started googling and found similar posts to what's on this site. When I asked who they were and what they wanted, no one wanted to tell me anything until I started telling them private information. That's a no-no, I'm not giving you information so you can steal my identity. So I'm yelling and cussing by this point and told the girls I was about to hurt her feelings and say things I shouldn't say because she wasn't getting to the point. Finally, she placed me on hold and then hung up the phone. I called back a third and fourth time and asked to speak with a manager. I was transferred to this Tim Shaffer person. Great personality there. Rude man he is. He actually tried to threaten me with the police because I told his previous representative that I was going to hurt her feelings. He told me that they record all phone calls and that I should call the police, that he'll be glad to tell them that I was threatening his workers. I requested that his company (one of his representatives said he was the "owner") stop calling other people and past numbers I've had, possibly telling private information and he basically hung up the phone. That's a clear sign that this person and the people working for him are up to no good. It seems they are using old/outdated information and doing what they can to try to get money. I have no idea who they are possibly trying to collect a debt for, being that I didn't go to any doctors/hospitals in Savannah or anywhere in the area. It could all be a scam, but I still needed to find out what was up. Shoot, I still don't know what's up. When you deal with this company and Tim Shaffer, it's best to turn your tape recorder on because someone funny stuff is bound to happen.
"Mr. Shaffer started Southeastern Recovery Systems in 1991, a Georgia medical/retail collection business and continued the business until June 2008, when he joined the PSG team. During the ownership of SRS, Tim started six in-house hospital systems including a fourteen year contract with Stephens County Hospital in GA., managed and directed the district office of American Medical Response for the state of S.C., conducted a pre-sale clean up for Rabun County Hospital that progressed into a three year contract with In Med Group / Mountain Lakes Medical Center and did consulting and training for SunLink Hospital Management Group while maintaining a regular on-going collection agency.Mr. Shaffer's experience in the healthcare collections and billing industry will give PSG the strength and knowledge necessary to become a leader in building, deploying and managing the best in collection solutions." ***Not a hospital collection company, huh?!?!*** Hahahahaaa!!!!
I recently received a phone call from PSG Collections. The woman I spoke to was very rude and would talk over me. I thought it was very strange that a collection agency out of my residential town would collect on unpaid medical bills. I have unpaid bills through a local collections agency and they were very professional and we're able to work out an agreement with my payments. The woman from PSG Collections said they were not affiliated with my local collections agency. The woman then told me that if I did not pay as soon as possible legal action would be taken and she rudely advised me to ask a family member to pay if I was unable and then she hung up. Upset I called back to find out what sort of legal actions would be taken and she said she could not tell me for it was to be handled by a different department. When I asked to be transferred to that department she denied my request and hung up again. This was not handled professionally, the overall experience was extremely rude and unnerving.
These losers are like all losers in GA. DUMB and uneducated. Don't ever call me again. Get a real job you losers.
They are extremely rude. Told me I owed a bill I never knew about harassed me and refused to send me any documentation of my bill. The woman told me to pay in full and when I told her I didn't have it she told me she would press further action against me and then hung up on me. She kept calling over and over again so I did research on my bill found exactly where it originated from paid it off in full and then got a confirmation statement showing my balance as 0. So the next day they called my phone 3 times I finally answered and she said I owed them more money that I could only mail in a payment and when I asked for a bill she said we do not send out bills. So I can told her she will not receive money then. Very RUDE NASTY PEOPLE, who work for this company.
Profit services group,,accounts receivable for medical offices ,Dr's etc. Just call them and see what is up.No big whoop.
If you keep getting a call record you telling them if they call your number again, you will file a harassment charge against the company. This is harassment and it is against the law.
Did they ever threaten you after a missed payment!....Be very rude and nasty that so called manager.....Francis is her name
