Called me twice this morning. Fine "targeted audience" there, Sparky, calling me in Oregon.. SPAM as far as I am concerned. No voicemail left and I sure didn't pick up.
Called me from 1(919)926-6511 (caller ID says Raleigh, NC and I'm in Virginia. Callers state they are conducting a survey for the CDC and if I complete the survey, they'll send me $30. Then they ask if I'm willing to participate (a yes or no question). I asked to be taken off this list, they said there was no list which is strange since they've called me several times this week, sometimes as late as 10:30pm. They promptly hung up on me. Since there is a scam that asks "can you hear me okay?" and if you say "yes" your bank account is compromised, I suspect this is a similar scam.
I'm in Nebraska and I got the call tonight. I took 25 minutes and it was all questions related to abusive relationships. Some questions were quite outside my comfort zone. I'm close to retirement age and I told her the words she used to describe the abuse were not even allowed to be spoken when I was growing up.
I'm in Texas...caller stated she's from the CDC and that after completing a 45 min survey, I would receive a $10 check. This definitely seems to be a scam. There is another scam I read about that tried to get you to say the word "yes", so they can use your "consent" to get more information about you. I would not engage the caller, just hang up.
