These folks have been calling my son's cell phone. He is not allowed to bring his phone to school SO it sits here and buzzes. I take the numbers off and Google them. I am going to add this number to the block thing on his phone. He has been getting a lot of telemarketer calls lately. I told him if he gets a call from a number he doesn't recognize to give me the number and then delete it, do not answer.The other day we got a call on our land line that was for him. He is a 16 year old. He has no idea how to answer telemarketer calls. When I mentioned he was 16 they got all nervous and hung up. I normally don't answer things that look suspicious but with all the medical bills and places we've been to lately, it sounded like a connection. I answered, they asked for my son, I told them he wasn't available. When they asked when he would be back, I asked what it was about. They got nervous and when I said "he is a teenage boy" they got really nervous and said "Ohh....we're sorry. We'll remove his name from our list." and they hung up. Haven't heard back from them since. I googled the name on the caller i.d. and found out it was a real place, not a scammer, but I am glad they will not call again.
I answered this call knowing it was some kind of scam. I planned to just put the phone down if a person was there or hit the # key several times if there was nobody there, but it was a recording. At the end it said this was my last chance but I've heard that before so I opted to talk to somebody. When I was asked if I was interested in lowering my credit card rate I asked that I be removed from their list as they were calling my cell phone. I never heard another thing except other conversations in the background, then I was hung up on. Caller ID displayed 'No Name'.
Got a call on this number to my cell # today (25 Jan 12) @ 2:43p. Left no msg. My mobile is on the DNC list.
