I've gotten 2 collect calls from this number today seem legit to any of you claiming the same thing, pfft then get your Darwin award

This is not a scam. It clearly identifies who is calling and what you can do. It is the Michigan Department of Corrections.

Many MDOC facilities use a clearing-house of sorts to route the calls. Friend is in Adrian-his calls come from this number. Previously he was in Muskegon & Kincheloe, both of those came through as TX #'s as well.

Just got 3 calls from this number on my cell. Don't know anyone in Texas. I will not answer.

Rec'd call about 12:25 pm. recording just stated that if you see the prisoner please call an 855 number. the recording did not give the name of the prisoner. I just deleted the call from my voice mail.

I also have received these calls and they do ask for a credit card to accept the "free" charges. Seems like a shaddy scam of sorts. I blocked the phone #.

I just got a call from this number. The government can't catch these guys and they are going after ISIS?

This number called me and the voicemail said it was from a prison or holding cell in Michigan and got cut off once the man started to say his name. Called me on a holiday morning too. But the area code of Texas confused me cuz the person said they were in Jackson,MI...

This was a call with very poor signal quality and a very scratchy recorded voice saying "This is a debit call from the Michigan Department of Corrections," something I couldn't make out, then a man's voice said "Katie." I hung up and Googled for the number--and found the area code was in Texas, not Michigan.I don't know anyone in Michigan OR in Texas, and I don't know anyone named Katie. I'm not going to answer any more calls from that number.
