they called me at 5:09 PM i didnt answer and they didnt leave a message.

Called to ask if I had received my copy of the new Dex yellow pages.

Called 5:20 EST, I let it ring.

Damn, these frigging calls keep coming. Rcvd call 6:05pm, but they left no msg.

I got a call. Caller in New Jersey. I'm in South Carolina. Certainly doesn't sound legit.

Caller left no msg on the answering machine.

Interesting! About a month ago, we received free phone books. A few days later, someone called and asked us to verify that we received them (it was a voice mail message). It said if we did NOT, to call (and left a phone number that was located out of our state) and that they would send them "free of charge." Your situation sounds very similar. Some kind of scam I think, where they ask you for a credit card in order to pay for "shipping and handling." I reported them to both the FTC and DO NOT CALL websites. That obviously didn't do any good. BEWARE!

Recorded message asking if I had received the newest YP phone book for the county. It described what was on the cover. Weird that they called an office number but I guess it makes sense. I've signed the AT&T delivery guy's verification sheet before (at a different job). So I can understand them having a company that checks to make sure the people are ACTUALLY delivering the books instead of just forging signatures and dumping the books somewhere.However, I do agree that this still sounds a little scam-y. I did not press either 1 for "received" or 2 for "did not receive", as I was too busy researching their number here. The recording plays twice, then it is followed by different voice recording saying "This concludes our survey". We get so many scam calls at the office that I'm hesitant to press any numbers or give any information for out of area numbers.
