You're right. It is a scam and they do want your account number in the guise of paying off debt. With so many people burried by credit card debt these predators are trying everything to take advantage of people scared of getting in trouble for owing money. Didn't answer. I've gotten calls like this before. I never answer, but I am wondering if this is how I ended up with a $10 charge on my cell bill for something called muchachat.com. AT&T said it was from going online on my phone, but I don't sign up for anything online. Check your cell bills this coming month. I know I will again.
Just received call from this number on my cell-phone & didn't answer. Tried calling back and got all circuits are busy. This caller should be under investigation by the police & arrested. whoever it is they're cowards and have no-meaning to any of us.
I also got the call, was not near phone, when called back got the all circuits busy recording!

I also got a call from them at 10:32 central, left no message. We've been car shopping over the past week and I've been getting a lot of strange calls from out of state numbers that refuse to leave a message.

Called three times and left no message. The third time the name that came up on my phone was Authors Club president. I answered and the caller then said they were collecting on a debt, claimed they were recording the call. Scam.
